-
- SYMPTOMS
- ========
-
- An "Access Denied" message appears when you attempt to access a resource
- across an untrusted domain that has permissions for the Everyone group
- in the following two situations:
-
- - When a user from an untrusted domain attempts to access your server and
- they have the same user name with a different password defined in your
- domain, they are prompted for a password or will receive the ôAccess
- Deniedö message.
-
- -or-
-
- - The Guest account on your domain is disabled. This is the default for
- Windows NT Advanced Server domains. If a user from an untrusted domain
- is trying to access your server remotely, they will receive the "Access
- Denied" message because they first need to do a remote logon to your
- server.
-
- RESOLUTION
- ==========
-
- There are two possible solutions to this problem:
-
- - Enable the Guest account in your Windows NT Advanced Server domain.
-
- -or-
-
- - Set up a trust relationship where your domain trusts the other domain.
