  18. Digiboard manufactures two general classes of serial adapters: intelligent
  19. and non-intelligent. These products are installed and supported in two
  20. different ways under Windows NT.

  22. Digiboard Non-Intelligent Serial Products

  33. Support for the non-intelligent Digiboard is provided by the native Windows
  34. NT serial device driver. These adapters are treated as any other standard
  35. serial adapter.

  37. Non-intelligent boards are configured by hand-editing values in the
  38. Registry. This is necessary to create some special entries required for the
  39. Digiboard adapter. Information on this procedure is available in section
  40. 9.0 of the README.WRI file located in SYSTEM32 sub-directory.

  42. Primary Support:

  44. Primary engineering support for this device driver is provided by
  45. Microsoft. Microsoft will assist you in editing the Registry and using the
  46. device with Windows NT applications. If you suspect your adapter is not
  47. configured correctly or is malfunctioning contact Digiboard.

  68. The Intelligent Digiboard adapters listed above require a custom device
  69. driver. Custom drivers are independently developed by Digiboard and are
  70. distributed by Microsoft with Windows NT. If you use any of the adapters
  71. above, contact Digiboard for driver updates.

  73. You can install the Digiboard drivers from Control Panel in the Networks
  74. section. The supported Digiboard adapters are listed in the Add Adapter
  75. dialog box.

  79. Digiboard provides primary support for their custom device drivers.
  80. Similarly, for a malfunctioning adapter, contact Digiboard. Microsoft will
  81. provide support for network configuration issues such as setting up Remote
  82. Access Services.

  99. 1. Select Drivers.
  100. 2. Select Windows NT.
  101. 3. Select the appropriate Digiboard product.
  102. 4. Download the current release of the DigiBoard driver.
  103. 5. Place the self extracting file on your hard disk in a sub-directory
  104.    by itself and start it with the -D parameter to unpack it.
  105. 6. Read the README.TXT for more information.

  107. FTP Download Procedure
  108. ----------------------

  110. The Windows NT Digiboard Beta driver is available via FTP. To obtain the
  111. latest version of the driver, use the following procedure:
  112.  
  113. 1. FTP to FTP.DIGIBD.COM.
  114. 2. Logon as anonymous.
  115. 3. Use your email address for the password.
  116. 4. Type "cd drivers/ms-windows-nt" (without the quotes).
  117.  
  118.    NOTE: The LS command will not show any files, even though they are
  119.    there.
  120.  
  121. 6. Use the Binary command.
  122. 7. Use the GET command to obtain the file.
  123. 8. Place the self extracting file in on your hard disk in a sub
  124.    directory by itself and start it with the -D parameter.
  125. 9. Read the README.TXT file for more information.
