  15. There are three situations in which you will receive an "Access
  16. Denied" message across untrusted domains when accessing a resource
  17. that has permissions for Everyone.
  18.  
  19. 1. When a user from an untrusted domain attempts to access the server
  20.    and they have the same user name with a different password defined 
  21.    in that domain, they'll be prompted for a password or receive an 
  22.    "Access Denied" message depending on the operation.

  27.    For accessing file servers on the other domain, you can work around
  28.    this problem by providing the correct DOMAIN/USERNAME in the Connect
  29.    As dialog box in File Manager and then providing the correct password.
  30.    Otherwise, if the user has the same user name on both domains, make
  31.    sure that the passwords match, or set up a two-way trust relationship
  32.    between the two domains.

  34. 2. The Guest account on the domain is disabled. This is the default for
  35.    Windows NT Advanced Server. If a user from an untrusted domain is
  36.    trying to access the server remotely, they will receive an "Access
  37.    Denied" message because there is no valid user name that they can use
  38.    to make the connection.

  43.    Enable the Guest Account on the Windows NT Advanced Server.

  45. 3. If your account or all of the groups you belong to do not have the
  46.    right to "access this computer from network," you will receive this
  47.    error message.

  52.    Use User Manager to add the "access this computer from network"
  53.    right to your account.
