  18. Some EISA controllers may cause erroneous media errors on the Conner
  19. ST2000 DAT. Attempts to back up and verify the tape will fail and you
  20. will receive the following error message:
  21.  
  22.    Fatal Error on Drive 1
  23.  
  24. On the rare occasions that the back up and verify process does not
  25. fail, there will be several errors in the backup log. A large number
  26. of the files will be corrupt when restored.
  27.  
  28. This problem occurs with all of Conner's 2 gigabyte (GB) tape drives.
  29. It is not operating system-specific. A firmware upgrade to version
  30. 2.66 or later corrects this problem.

  35. You can obtain the firmware version for the ST2000 DAT from within
  36. Windows NT in the following path of the Registry:

  38. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause
  39.          serious, system-wide problems that may require you to
  40.          reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot
  41.          guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
  42.          Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own
  43.          risk.

  59. Conner in August 1993. Firmware upgrades are available through Conner
  60. Technical Support at (800) 227-6296. Conner is currently shipping
  61. version 2.96.
