  19. After you search for particular files in the Windows NT File Manager,
  20. you may not be able to select numerous files from the Search window
  21. and drag them to another directory or to another drive.

  26. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1
  27. and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this
  28. problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
  29. Base as it becomes available.

  34. Steps to Reproduce Problem
  35. --------------------------

  37. 1. In the File Manager window, select the SYSTEM32 subdirectory.
  38.  
  39. 2. From the File menu, choose Search, and then use *.EXE for the type
  40.    of files to search for.
  41.  
  42. 3. Select the top file and hold down the SHIFT key and highlight ten
  43.    files down.
  44.  
  45. 4. Release the SHIFT key.
  46.  
  47. 5. Point to the area of selected files (but not the last file) and
  48.    press and hold the mouse button (as if to drag them).
  49.  
  50. At this point, the previously selected files may be deselected and
  51. only the file closest to the point where you were attempting to drag
  52. from will be selected.

  54. In earlier versions of Windows, the files stay selected and it is
  55. possible to drag them to a new destination.
