  16.      serious, system-wide problems that may require you to
  17.      reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Microsoft cannot

  26. Page 316 of the Microsoft Windows NT System Guide states that Windows
  27. NT will read the WIN.INI, SYSTEM.INI, and REG.DAT files each time
  28. Windows NT is booted. This is a documentation error. By default,
  29. Windows NT only performs migration of program groups and settings once
  30. for each user. After that, Windows NT does not make modifications to
  31. the registry for migration purposes.  Also, changes made in subsequent
  32. Windows 3.1 sessions are not migrated into Windows NT.

  40. To perform a migration after the initial logon, use the following
  41. procedure:

  43. 1. Log onto an administrative account.
  44. 2. Run Windows Setup from the Main group.
  45. 3. From the Options menu, choose Delete User Profiles
  46. 4. Highlight the desired user and choose Delete.

  51. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1
  52. and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this
  53. problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
  54. Base as it becomes available.
