- SYMPTOMS
- ========
-
- When you are using the Telnet services under the Terminal application
- in Windows NT, if you type any arbitrary sequence of white characters
- and then press ENTER, you may receive the following error message:
-
- An application error has occurred and an application error log
- is being generated.
-
- LMSRVCS.EXE
-
- Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x766026ee
-
- Note: The address may be different, but the Access violation code
- should be the same
-
- This message stops the Telnet service. If you attempt to restart the
- service from the Control Panel Services application, your machine may
- hang. The results of attempting to restart the Telnet service are
- random. To successfully restart the Telnet service, shut down and
- restart Windows NT.
-
- CAUSE
- =====
-
- The Telnet service was not parsing input characters properly.
