  18. Under Windows NT or Windows NT Advanced Server, you may receive
  19. following error message when trying to dial from Remote Access Service
  20. (RAS) with a MultiTech MultiModem 224 or MT932BA:
  21.  
  22.    Error 692: Hardware failure in port or attached devices.

  27. MultiTech Systems Technical Support recommends upgrading the firmware
  28. to the most current version. The current firmware versions recommended
  29. are 1.14 and 2.14.

  34. There are two different types of chipsets that can be used by the same
  35. modem:
  36.  
  37.    The 1.xx series is an AT&T Data Pump chipset.
  38.    The 2.xx series is a Rockwell Data Pump chipset.

  40. To determine the type of chipset that is being used, start Terminal
  41. and type the following:
  42.  
  43.    ATI1 [ENTER] for the version.
  44.    ATI2 [ENTER] for the modem model.
  45.
