  19. The Windows NT Remote Access Service (RAS) displays confusing
  20. information when interpreting information for Transmit (TX), Receive
  21. (RX), or other RAS statistics.
  22.  
  23. CAUSE
  24. =====

  26. Windows NT supports the International application programming
  27. interface (API) so that applications can determine which language
  28. Windows NT is configured for. Using this information, applications can
  29. format output correctly according to the currently installed language. 
  30.  
  31. However, the RAS port monitoring utility (RASMON) does not use the
  32. Windows NT International API to determine the format for information
  33. it displays. Therefore, RASMON cannot determine the correct language
  34. installed and format its output accordingly. For example, RASMON will
  35. always use a comma as a thousands separator even though the French
  36. thousands separator is a space.

  41. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1
  42. and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this
  43. problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
  44. Base as it becomes available.
