  18. You may receive the following error message when running Microsoft Word
  19. for Windows 2.0 or PowerPoint for Windows 3.0:
  20.  
  21.    MSWORD caused a segment load failure in module OLESVR.DLL
  22.  
  23.    -or-
  24.  
  25.    PP3 caused a segment load failure in module OLESVR.DLL
  26.   
  27. CAUSE
  28. =====
  29.  
  30. This error is caused by a damaged or corrupt OLESVR.DLL located in the
  31. %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32 directory, where SYSTEMROOT is the directory
  32. that contains your Windows NT system files.
  33.  
  34. RESOLUTION
  35. ==========
  36.  
  37. To correct this problem, rename OLESVR.DLL in the
  38. %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32 directory and expand the original file from the
  39. compact disc (CD) by doing the following:
  40.  
  41. 1. At the command prompt, change to the CD-ROM drive.
  42.  
  43. 2. Change to the I386 directory.
  44.  
  45. 3. Type 
  46.  
  47.       expand olesvr.dl_ %systemroot%\system32\olesvr.dll
  48.  
  49. To expand from the floppy disks:
  50.  
  51. 1. Insert disk 22 in the disk drive.
  52.  
  53. 2. At the command prompt change to the appropriate drive.
  54.  
  55. 3. Type 
  56.  
  57.       expand olesvr.dl_ %systemroot%\system32\olesvr.dll
