- The Windows NT SCSI port and class drivers do not currently support
- any SCSI device types above 7Fh. This may cause problems with current
- and future SCSI devices that have device types greater than 7Fh.

- STATUS
- ======

- Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT
- Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S.
- Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. For
- information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in
- the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):

- SCSI device types are used in certain SCSI commands, such as Inquiry,
- to determine what type of SCSI device is connected to the host
- controller.

- Below is a list of common SCSI device types:

- 01h = Sequential Access
- 02h = Printer
- 03h = Processor
- 04h = Write Once
- 05h = CD-ROM
- 06h = Scanner
- 07h = Optical Memory
- 08h = Medium Changer
- 09h = Communications
