  15. Windows NT does not cache (store in a file on the local hard disk)
  16. passwords for persistent connections to share-level security servers.
  17. Therefore, when you logon to Windows NT, you are prompted for a
  18. password for each password-protected connection to a share-level
  19. server. Windows NT prompts for the passwords to comply with C2 level
  20. security.

  22. In contrast, because Microsoft Windows for Workgroups caches the
  23. passwords into a file, it does not prompt you for passwords when it
  24. reconnects persistent network connections.
