- Windows NT does not cache (store in a file on the local hard disk)
- passwords for persistent connections to share-level security servers.
- Therefore, when you logon to Windows NT, you are prompted for a
- password for each password-protected connection to a share-level
- server. Windows NT prompts for the passwords to comply with C2 level
- security.

- In contrast, because Microsoft Windows for Workgroups caches the
- passwords into a file, it does not prompt you for passwords when it
- reconnects persistent network connections.
