  18. When you execute a file with the extension .REG to register a new file
  19. type in File Manager, File Manager does not update any file icons and
  20. it does not refresh its directory windows.
  21.  
  22. CAUSE
  23. =====

  25. When new file types are registered in this manner, File Manager does
  26. not generate any notification messages.
  27.  
  28. RESOLUTION
  29. ==========

  31. There are two methods to work around this situation:
  32.  
  33.  - Close File Manager and reopen it.
  34.  
  35.  - Choose Associate from the File menu to assign a file type to a file
  36.    extension. File Manager updates its directory windows.
