  2. WordWiz Installation Instructions

  5. Use ONE of the following methods.
  6.

  8. From Windows File Manager:
  9.  
  10. 1. Open the drive and directory that contains the distribution files,
  11.    and double click on SETUP.EXE.
  12.    
  13. 2. Enter the TARGET drive and directory where the WordWiz files 
  14.    are to be copied to (when requested).
  15.  
  16. 3. The distribution files will be copied into the directory you specify
  17.    (500 KB will be needed), and a new program group will be created 
  18.    to launch WordWiz.

  22. From Program Manager:
  23.  
  24. 1. Select FILE\RUN from the main menu.
  25.     
  26. 2. Enter the full drive, directory, and filename of the SETUP.EXE utility:
  27.    e.g.  B:SETUP.EXE  or  C:\TEMP\SETUP.EXE
  28.  
  29. 3. Enter the TARGET drive and directory where the WordWiz files 
  30.    are to be copied to (when requested).

  32. 4. The distribution files will be copied into the directory you specify
  33.    (500 KB will be needed), and a new program group will be created 
  34.    to launch WordWiz.

  40. 1. Enter WIN x:SETUP    (x = floppy drive letter)
  41.  
  42. 2. Enter the TARGET drive and directory where the installation files 
  43.    are to be copied to (when requested).

  45. 3. The distribution files will be copied into the directory you specify
  46.    (500 KB will be needed), and a new program group will be created 
  47.    to launch WordWiz.

  51. From Dos: ( advanced users only )
  52.  
  53. 1. Create a new directory that will contain the WordWiz installation files,
  54.    and copy all of the distribution files into it.
  55.  
  56. 2. Start Windows, and create a WordWiz startup icon by 
  57.    dragging the WordWiz.EXE entry from the new directory in FILE MANAGER 
  58.    to any existing PROGRAM MANAGER group.

  62. The main distribution files are:

  65. INSTALL.TXT*  - This file.
  66.  
  67. WordWiz.EXE   - The Word Puzzle Composer.
  68.  
  69. WordWiz.HLP   - The Help File / WordWiz User Guide.
  70.  
  71. SETUP.EXE*    - The WordWiz installation program. 
  72.                 Note: SETUP.EXE is unique to WordWiz.  
  73.                     Don't replace other SETUP.EXE files for other 
  74.                     applications with this one, and visa versa. 
  75.  
  76. SETUP.INF*    - The setup control file.
  77.  
  78. BASE.WPL      - The standard Word Pool.  This file is compressed. 
  79.                 Do not try to edit it.
  80.  
  81. BASEMORE.TXT  - Edit this file to add words that you wish were in BASE.WPL.
  82.  
  83. BASEOMIT.TXT  - Edit this file to add words that you wish were NOT in BASE.WPL.

  85. xxxxx.WIZ*    - Several sample puzzles are included. 
  86.  
  87. ORDERFRM.WRI* - Credit card order form.
  88.  
  89. VENDOR.WRI*   - Information for shareware distributors.
  90.  
  91.  
  92. The files marked with an * are not required for actual program operation.
  93. These files may be deleted after installation to save disk space.
  94. Do not delete these files from the distribution disk; only delete the copies
  95. in the installation directory!!!!

  106. 1.  Delete all files and sub directories in the directory that 
  107.     was created by the install process.

  109. 2.  Delete the WordWiz.INI file from your main windows directory.
