Transcription: I firmly believe that the centre of culture attracts mediocrity, so that's the area that I stay away from. I tend to look toward the periphery of culture for my enthusiasm and that's generally where I find the most rewarding things going on. And I add those to what fundamentally is my way of working and I produce this almost a pastiche or a kind of a patchwork quill built of what contemporary life is about. That's all. And I throw a few flying saucers in. For good measure.
