- Sometimes a perfect program comes along. One that blends style, play,
- and communication all into one. The product: a game you can play for
- years without ever tiring.
-
- Surely you realize that the game of Mah Johng isn't new. No, that's not
- what I mean. What Nels Anderson has done is set a new standard, not only
- for EGA games, but personal computer games in general.
-
- My normal review style would not do this program justice, for the words
- would just confine the entire program. What I will do, though, is
- describe the program through a series of unorganized bullet points,
- which hopefully will inspire you to get this program and try it.
-
- USE:
-
- ∙ EGA Graphics at their best. The graphics flow, and you can see
- the pictograms in great detail on the tiles.
-
- ∙ Help. Sporting on-line help, as well as, the best documentation
- for a game, you are sure never to go without an answer.
-
- ∙ Speed. Unmatched speed for a program of such complexity. Even
- when the computer is remembering what tiles you selected, it
- burns!
-
- ∙ Play. This bullet point will be the biggest. Playing MAHJON32 is
- like playing not a computer, but yourself. You can compile
- statistics, play tournament games, and even select which board you
- want. During play you can ask for help, take a move back off, or
- even look at what you have taken off so far.
-
- ∙ Price. $10.00. What else can I say.
-
- ∙ See, the beauty of the program lies in the fact that it is cheap
- and powerful. Most games are either, but very few are both.
