  14. This is the README for NGDUMP, a decompiler for Norton Guides Database
  15. files. NGDUMP is based on NG_CLONE, a clone of the NG program I found
  16. on SIMTEL (<msdos.txtutl>ng_clone.zip). I modified the program to emit
  17. source code for the NG compiler.

  19. usage:          ngdump databasefile[.ng]
  20.  
  21. NGDUMP creates numbered data-files (1.dat, 2.dat, etc.) with the text,
  22. a NG linker control file (GUIDE.LCF), and a makefile (MAKEGUID).

  29. yesterday I posted a follow-up in comp.sys.ibm.pc in which I promised
  30. to send a copy of my ngdump program to those who would request it.
  31. Considering the number of requests (>15 in just one day) and the general
  32. interest in Norton Guides, I think it might make a good posting for
  33. the comp.binaries.ibm.pc group even though it is really source code.
  34. A distributable version (uuencoded .zoo file) is included below. 
  35. Please let me know what you think and how long it might take to get it
  36. out if it's worth it.
