  129.    The information provided below is to help you start the program for
  130.    your hardware configuration.  For more details about the operation of
  131.    the program press the F1 (function) key once you have started the
  132.    program.

  134.    The following files are absolutely essential to run AS-EASY-AS:
  135.  
  136.                  ASEASY.EXE,    ASEASY.MSG    ASEASY.MNU          
  137.  
  138.    These three files need to reside in the same sub-directory.  In addition 
  139.    to that, if the files ASEASY.HLP, ASEASY.PRT, ASEASY.CFG, HTREE.EXE, 
  140.    and any Addins, are going to be used, they HAVE to reside in the same 
  141.    (ASEASY) directory as well.

  144.     AS-EASY-AS is started from DOS using the command:
  145.  
  146.     A>  ASEASY /Option1/Option2/Option3/.....     [ENTER]
  147.

  149.     Where Option can be one or more of the following:

  152.     /P       - Use alternate menu file (ASEASY.MN2) which  
  153.                 provides command compatibility with version 
  154.                4.00 of AS-EASY-AS.                         
  155.     /ATT     - Enables ATT display graphics                
  156.     /AUTO=File... - Specify the worksheet to be loaded     
  157.                      when the program is started           
  158.     /BK=x    - Set screen blank-out period to x seconds    
  159.     /DIR=Path..  -  Set the Path to the WKS files          
  160.     /E       - Enables graphics for EGA                    
  161.     /EV      - Enables Graphics for VGA                    
  162.     /H       - Enables graphics for Hercules               
  163.     /H2      - Enables graphics for Hercules, Video Pg. 2  
  164.     /MONO    - Changes colors to white on black (CGA card) 
  165.     /NE      - DO NOT use EMS even if found                
  166.     /NT      - No Turbo Keyboard, (Slow down Cursor).      
  167.     /Q       - Quick screen updating for CGA               
  168.     /RA      - Round Absolute (e.g. 1.6 to 2., -1.6 to -2.)
  169.     /VM=nn   - Use Virtual (disk) EMS model, nn-Pages (2k each)
  170.     /VP=Path - Set Path for Virtual (disk) memory File     
  171.     /V1      - Force CGA Emulation (normally on VGA Monitor)

  173.        Example:
  174.               A> ASEASY /H2/DIR=C:\Data [ENTER]
  175.                  Starts AS-EASY-AS for a Hercules type monitor/card
  176.                  combination, using the second page for graphics, and
  177.                  instructs the program that the data files will be
  178.                  located on drive C, in subdirectory "Data".

  181.    RUNNING AS-EASY-AS FROM ANY DIRECTORY
  182.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  183.    1. Set a DOS environment variable (ASEASY) to the drive and path of
  184.       the ASEASYAS.EXE,.HLP,.MNU, .PRT and .MSG files (Note that these 
  185.       files should be in the same directory).  This can be done at the 
  186.       DOS prompt by typing:
  187.  
  188.                       SET ASEASY=Drive:\Directory
  189.  
  190.       and pressing [ENTER].  The command may also be included in your
  191.       AUTOEXEC.BAT file so the variable is set automatically every time 
  192.       you start your computer. 
  193.  
  194.    2. Make sure that the directory, where the ASEASY.EXE file is located,
  195.       is included in your system's Path command.
  196.  
  197.    If done correctly, typing ASEASY and pressing [ENTER], from any
  198.    directory, will start the program.

  221.    Files Included with AS-EASY-AS

  223.    The following files are included on a distribution disk obtained 
  224.    directly from TRIUS, Inc.    If the AS-EASY-AS diskette you got  
  225.    did not contain all of the files described below, please let us 
  226.    know.   Note, however, that from time to time the contents of the 
  227.    diskette will change, with regards to the sample worksheet files 
  228.    and other utility programs may be added.

  241.    To Install on Floppy or Hard Disk:  
  242.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  243.    Although the program will work if installed on 360k diskettes, we 
  244.    recommend that the program is installed either on a hard disk, or a 
  245.    high density floppy diskette, since this will permit the help file, 
  246.    the printer setup files, and other auxilliary files, to be 
  247.    available to the user without swapping disks. 
  248.  
  249.   * Place the AS-EASY-AS original diskette in drive A: (or B:)
  250.  
  251.   * Make sure the current logged drive is A: (Type A:, or B:, and 
  252.     press ENTER if it is not).
  253.   
  254.   * Type INSTALL and press [ENTER].  Then, follow the simple on-screen 
  255.     instructions to install your copy of the program on the desired disk(s) 
  256.     and/or subdirectory.
  257.  
  258.   ***  If you are familiar with archived files, you may manually install 
  259.        the copy to your diskette or hard disk if you so prefer, without 
  260.        executing the install program. To do so, for example, place the 
  261.        original disk in drive A, log onto the drive and/or directory 
  262.        that you want to install the program, type

  264.                  A:LHA e A:ASEASY5.FLS

  266.        and press ENTER.

  268.        NOTE: If you are trying to extract the files on 360K 
  269.        diskettes, you will need more that one diskette!

  277.   On-Disk Documentation

  279.   The installation process also extracts a file called ASEASY.MAN.  This 
  280.   is a ready-to-print formatted, User's manual for the program.  
  281.  
  282.   Following the installation, make sure that the ASEASY.MAN file is 
  283.   indeed on your default directory.  Then, to print this manual: 
  284.  
  285.    (1)  Make sure that the your printer is ON  and there is enough
  286.         paper in it (the manual is about 110 pages).
  287.  
  288.    (2)  From the DOS prompt, type
  289.  
  290.               COPY ASEASY.MAN PRN and press [ENTER]
  291.  
  292.         Please note that if your printer is connected to a SERIAL port,
  293.         then you need to use the command  COPY ASEASY.MAN COM1, or
  294.         COPY ASEASY.MAN COM2 (depending on which serial port your 
  295.         printer is connected to).
