  39. BBS where this package was found and/or contact Oberon Software at the

  44.   This is the SHAREWARE version of TE/2.  Please be aware that it
  45. does not contain several features which are present in the full,
  46. registered version of the program.  The most notable of these
  47. features being Compuserve B+ Protocol and the TE/2 Script Language. 
  48. The script.doc file is included with this package so as to provide
  49. you with an indication of the features and functions of the script
  50. language and to assist you in deciding whether or not to register for
  51. the full version of TE/2.

  53.   The following is the "Restrictions" section from TE2.DOC:

  57.     This version of TE/2 is supplied for personal, private use.
  58.   Feel free to distribute TE/2 given these restrictions:

  60.    o  the program shall be supplied in its original, unmodified
  61.       form, which includes this documentation and all accompanying
  62.       support files;

  64.    o  no fee is charged;
  65.  
  66.    o  use for profit without a license is prohibited;
  67.  
  68.    o  the program may not be included or bundled with other
  69.       goods or services. Exceptions may be granted upon written
  70.       request only.

  73.     If you are using TE/2 and find it of value, you are expected to
  74.   become a registered user.  Please refer to the accompanying file
  75.   ORDER.FRM for ordering and pricing information.  If this file is
  76.   unavailable for any reason, please contact Oberon Software by one
  77.   of the methods listed at the beginning of this document.

  79.     For use by corporations and other institutions, please  contact
  80.   the Oberon Software for a licensing arrangement.

  84.   For a quick start, if you are running OS/2 version 1.2 (SE or EE),
  85. 1.3 (SE or EE), or 2.0 and you have a Hayes compatible 2400 baud
  86. modem attached to COM1, all you need to do to start TE/2 is:
  87.  
  88.     1. Make a directory on your hard disk and copy all the files
  89.        except COMMPAK2.DLL into that directory.
  90.  
  91.      NOTE: If you are installing over an existing copy of TE/2 and
  92.      you have a working TE2.INI file DO NOT overwrite your working
  93.      file!  Instead refer to WHATS.NEW and the sample TE2.INI file
  94.      so that you can merge in any new features.  Also take care not
  95.      to overwrite any of the other associated files: TE2.DIR,
  96.      TE2.FNK, TE2.XEX, TE2INP.XLT and TE2OUT.XLT.  The new version
  97.      of TE/2 will read your old files just fine.

  99.     2. Copy COMMPAK2.DLL into a directory referred to in your LIBPATH
  100.        setting from CONFIG.SYS.
  101.  
  102.     3. Change directory so that you are in the directory you created
  103.        above and type "TE2" at the OS/2 prompt (or click on TE2.EXE if
  104.        you've been doing all of this from Presentation Manager).
  105.  
  106.   If your setup does not match the above requirements, or it does but
  107. for some reason this does not start TE/2, or TE/2 starts after emitting
  108. an error message, then you must read at least the first several sections
  109. of TE2.DOC to get started.
  110.  
  111.   Everyone should read the TE2.DOC file, however, to find out about all
  112. the options you have available for customizing TE/2 to you individual
  113. tastes and requirements.

  117.   Please read the "Disclaimer" section at the end of TE2.DOC also.  Use
  118. of TE/2 will imply that you agree with the terms of that liability
  119. statement and to the restrictions given above.

  123.   Feel free to call the Oberon BBS number given above with any questions,
  124. problems, compliments, or chit chat.  The latest shareware version will
  125. always be available there.  The BBS uses a US Robotics Courier HST
  126. 14400 modem, No Parity, eight data bits, one stop bit and should be
  127. available 24 hours daily.
