  8.             File Server Utilization on 33MHz and 486 Machines

  10. Many 33MHz machines and 486 machines used as NetWare 286 file servers
  11. report high utilization figures.  (These high utilization reports have not
  12. been observed in NetWare 386.)  The typical utilization figure reported is
  13. 600%; utilization has been reported as high as 1500%.  Although high
  14. utilization is reported, these high figures are erroneous; no performance
  15. degradation or data corruption is occurring.

  17. The high utilization figures are caused by the code that interprets the
  18. file server utilization.  A variable within the operating system that
  19. should be defined as a long integer is currently defined as a short
  20. integer.  The variable type will be changed in the next release of NetWare
  21. 286.
