This shareware version of WEB PairWare is copyrighted. It is not "free"
or "public domain" software. You may use, copy, and distribute this
software only as specified in the WEBCORP LICENSE AGREEMENT that
follows.
WHAT IS WEB?
WEB is a high-performance peer-to-peer local area Network Operating
System that is compatible with vertually any network interface card and
topology through its support of Novell(r) IPX drivers. WEB version 3.0
provides seamless connectivity with NetWare(r) servers.
(Novell and NetWare are registered trademarks of Novell, Inc.)
WHAT IS WEB PAIRWARE?
WEB PairWare are special two-user "serial-only" versions of the WEB
Network Operating System. WEB PairWare connects two computers together
with a serial cable to form a fully functional peer-to-peer local area
network. WEB PairWare is a low-cost solution for networking two PCs and
for connecting a laptop to a PC.
HOW DOES SHAREWARE WORK?
This "shareware" version of WEB PairWare 2.55 is fully functional.
Shareware gives you the chance to try WEB PairWare before purchasing a
registered license.
WEB PAIRWARE 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD
You may use this shareware version of WEB PairWare without charge for a
trial period of 30 days to decide if you want to purchase a registered
license. After the 30 Day Trial Period:
(1) you must stop using this shareware version;
(2) this shareware version will cease to function;
(3) you must purchase a registered license to continue using WEB
PairWare; and
(4) you may keep copies of this shareware version to give to others.
GIVING COPIES OF THIS SHAREWARE VERSION TO OTHERS
You may copy and distribute this shareware version by any means,
electronic or disk, as long as it is:
(1) not rented,
(2) not sold,
(3) not bundled with a product that is sold or as an incentive to buy a
product that is sold, and
(4) distributed with all files intact with no modifications.
BENEFITS OF REGISTERING
When you register, you will receive the following:
■ A new serialized diskette,
■ A registered license,
■ No annoying shareware screens,
■ Printed documentation,
■ Free BBS technical support,
■ Notification of new products and updates,
■ Special upgrade pricing for other products.
HOW TO REGISTER
If you decide to purchase a registered license, just fill out the
registration form found in REGISTER.TXT on the disk you installed from
and return it to WEBCORP with your payment.
PRODUCTS YOU CAN REGISTER
You can choose from any of the following products:
■ WEB PairWare 2.55 (serial-based version)
This is the same as the shareware version, but with a printed manual and
registered license.
■ WEB PairWare Advanced 3.0 (serial-based version)
An advanced version of PairWare based on version 3.0 of the WEB Network
Operating System that comes with a printed manual and registered
license.
■ WEB 3.0 (card-based version)
The advanced version of WEB 3.0 that supports ARCnet, Ethernet, and
Token Ring topologies and cards. Sold with 1, 5, 10, 15, and 30 user
licenses.

SAMPLING WEB PAIRWARE WITHOUT A CABLE
A cable is not supplied with WEB PairWare. You may install WEB PairWare
on this PC without connecting it to another PC if you want to take a
look at the install program and Station Manager before purchasing a
cable. When you get to the screen for configuring your serial port,
choose MANUAL CONFIGURATION and enter some ficticious settings. After
you purchase a cable and connect this PC to another, you will need to
re-run the Install program on both machines and properly configure them.
SAMPLING WEB PAIRWARE WITH A CABLE
To set up your network, connect a serial cable between this machine and
another. Run this Install program on both machines and follow the
prompts. Help is available from F1.
WHERE TO GET A CABLE
Cable specifications and sources can be found at the beginning of the
MINIDOC.TXT file included with WEB PairWare.
WEBCORP LICENSE AGREEMENT
(When you install WEB PairWare you will be presented with the following
text. Pressing ENTER to continue with installation constitutes your
acceptance of this agreement.)
If you agree with the following terms and conditions, press ENTER to
indicate your agreement and begin installation. If you do not agree,
press F10 to quit and give this software to someone else.For 30 days,
you have a license to use WEB PairWare Sampler for the purpose of making
a decision to purchase a registered copy, after which this license
expires. For an unlimited period, you may keep copies for the purpose of
giving them to others. You may not rent, sell, modify, decompile,
reverse engineer, or bundle the software with other products that are
sold. LIMITED WARRANTY: THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS
WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF
THESE PROGRAMS IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU (NOT
WEBCORP) ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY REPAIR, SERVICING, OR
CORRECTION. IN NO EVENT SHALL WEBCORP BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT,
SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SIMILAR DAMAGES OR LOST DATA OR
PROFITS TO PURCHASER OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, EVEN IF WEBCORP HAS
BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. This is the complete and
exclusive agreement between you and WEBCORP and supersedes any prior
agreement in any form relating to WEB PairWare.
