STRENGTH TESTS
The Fitness Tests measures strength with the pushup test and situp
test.
The pushup test requires you to do as many pushups as possible. There
is no time limit on this test, keep going until another pushup would be
impossible. Men use the standard pushup position with just toes and hands
touching the floor. Women use the modified position, with knees and hands
touching the floor.
Before taking a single test you must fill in the User Information
by pressing <Alt-U>, or clicking on the User Information option under the
Fitness Tests menu. This is necessary so the program will properly judge
your results. Move between the questions by pressing <TAB>, when completed
press <ENTER>. You are now ready to take the tests.
To take the pushup test press <Alt-S> or click on the Fitness Tests
menu, then click on strength tests. At the strength tests box choose pushup
test by clicking on it, or pressing <P>. Press <ENTER> and follow the
directions given in the following screens. Upon completing the test enter the
number of pushups performed, you will then see a results screen showing norms
for your age and sex.
The situp test requires you to do as many situps as possible in one
minute. If you wish a partner may hold your feet.
To take the situp test follow the steps for taking the pushup test except
choose situp test instead of pushup test at the strength test box. Upon
completing the test enter the number of situps performed, you will then see a
results screen showing norms for your age and sex.
