MON is a monitoring utility.
To date, this is just a test version.
It requires the g8bpq switch.
It requires a 24k - 30k DESQview window.
You need to supply it with a bpq stream number (suggest 23).
Note that this stream number is NOT a COM port number, but
uses the 'extra' channels provided by bpq host mode.
It has several commands. Run it, hit the enter key, it will
tell you what it can do. The commands and capabilities are
still under development ...
The status display (s command) shows the number of bytes MON has
seen on each channel, and the percentage of those bytes that
carry data with respect to the total bytes seen.
Includes transmitted as well as received bytes.
The l command shows a list of links (callsign pairs) heard
recently. The counts are packets heard, the times are when
the most recent packet was heard. An asterisk before the
first callsign indicates this was a Version 1 link.
o and c allow you to open a log file, log activity for awhile,
then close it for later examination.
I expect MON to become a much more useful network statistics collector
in the future. Your ideas about what it should do are most welcome !
