BRAKE SYSTEM

The system consists of a master
cylinder which is a reservoir for a
special fluid. This brake fluid is
routed through steel lines to
cylinders at each wheel. As you
press on the brake pedal, brake fluid
which is not compressible moves small
pistons outward which in turn forces
special pads against the rotating
part of a wheel. These pads slow and
eventually will stop the vehicle. The

greater pressure you apply on the
pedal, the more pressure is exerted
by the brake pads and the quicker the
vehicle will stop.
The brake fluid is special and no
substitute should be used in your
brake system.
Your very life could depend on it so
always use brake fluid which is marked
DOT-3. Check the level each couple of
months as long as your pedal is firm.
