ALPHAQUOTE 3.0
______________
Several minor "bug" fixes have been make since version 2.3. Major
feature additions include:
█ Several rates files are supplied with the additional ability to change
easily from one set of rates to another. The generate.exe program that
was previously distributed with ALPHAQUOTE is no longer necessary. The
rates supplied are:
DTP
EASTERN US
CENTRAL US
MOUNTAIN US
PACIFIC US
CANADA
█ Art/½/Tab. This feature permits the user to allow for spot art,
halftones, tabular, foreign language or other more difficult matter.
The Art/½/Tab penalty percentage is established in the setup section.
APHAQUOTE will prompt the user for the percentage of the job/page that
contains this more difficult matter. The program will then add the
necessary charges to the page or job estimate.
█ Productivity %. A feature that allows fine tuning without changing
the rates or penalties. This item makes your efficiency a factor
in the estimate
█ Print estimates to disk. If the 'F' printer option is selected during
setup, ALPHAQUOTE will prompt the user for a file name when the [P]rint
MAIN MENU option is selected. Estimates are subsequently printed to disk
in standard ASCII format. This file can be edited and printed with you
word processor of choice. Add "boilerplate" paragraphs to the estimate,
print it and present it to the client.
█ BREAKOUT BY PAGE is a new MAIN MENU item. Use this feature for
estimating magazines, newsletters or other projects that vary from
page to page. Estimate each page separately by changing the values
for only the items that change on each page. BREAKOUT BY PAGE will
automatically keep track of the price for each page and the running
total. This information can be printed using SHIFT PRINT SCREEN or
pressing 'P' when the pop-up screen is visible.
█ OPERATING SYSTEM DOS. Move to the DOS prompt without leaving
ALPHAQUOTE. When the DOS session is finished, type EXIT at the prompt
to return to the program where you left off.
