- This scenery centers around the Marlboro Airport in Marlboro, MA, the
- "Oldest Privately Owned Commercial Airport in Massachusetts" according
- to the sign out in front. Marlboro is a very small airport, only
- 1682x50 feet. I still haven't made a landing there that I've been
- satisfied with; maybe you can do better!
-
- The airport is in a residential area and is surrounded by houses and
- apartments, many of which are included. Just south and west is a series
- of greenhouses. To the west of the airport is Jerico Hill, a small ski
- area. The major road to the north is Route 20 which if you follow it a
- few miles to the east you'll find the Wayside Inn, a colonial era inn.
-
- The airport doesn't really have a taxiway. Planes typically taxi down
- the grass to the east of the runway (and in front of most of the parked
- planes), turn at the gray building with the windsock, and take off to
- the north. Try not to hit the gray house just off the end of the
- runway; yes it really is that close!
