MONEY MASTER CONCEPT
MONEY MASTER develops two forms of information which are saved
as files onto the disc, these are called the Master file and the
Time period file. When dealing with money matters their are
credits and debits that you know in advance. i.e. Fixed payments
for loans, rates, and basic wages. This information is collected
by the Master file which covers the transactions over a length
of time, a week, month, year etc. The Master file can hold
information for up to 32 Time period files, the Time period file
being the "working file" for that week, month or year. All Time
period files are first developed from their Master file.
What you can do with each type of file.
MASTER FILE ( 4-8 character file name)
Insert the names of the debit and credit transactions
Name the time period files
Insert debit or credit amounts and select at which Time
periods these will be paid or collected.
Save the Master file
Print the Master file
Develop a total period forecast of credits and debits held
in the Master file
Insert values to determine a "What If" situation over
a period of time
Insert notes against any item and these will be included on
all Time period files.
Master file examples
A weeks Master file may cover seven Time periods

MONEY MASTER
When you first run Money Master you will see a Menu as below

Select a number or press ALT + E to End Money Master
If you are new to Money Master it is advisable to read the
features in the following order
3 .... Load an Existing Time Period file
1 .... Alter an Existing Master file
2 .... Create a Time Period file
0 .... Create a new Master file

Features
0 ... Create a New Master File
A Master file has space for up to 50 debit and 50 credit
items, therefore it is necessary to decide which items to include
before starting. When you are ready press 0 and Enter a name for
the Master File. This name will be used for all future references.
You are asked to provide all the Debit item names, followed by the
credit item names, at the end of each list enter END.
When these lists are complete you will be asked for the names
of the TIME PERIODS, a Master File can cover up to 32 Time periods.
Type in a 3 letter name followed by the return key, when you have
the required number of Time Periods; enter END.
After verifying the Time Period names the creation of the Master
file can be competed as Option 1 .... Alter a Existing Master File
When you have finished Entering all the data press ALT + R, you
will be given an option to save the data or you can save it from
the main menu.
1 ... Alter an Existing Master File
A Master file may be created to cover a year or longer; within
that period certain items be will change (e.g. Mortgage rates etc).
This option allows these values to be adjusted within the Master
File.
Press 1 and Enter the name of the Master file you wish to alter.
Using the cursor keys to move the highlighter, you can select
an item to change. Place the highlighter over an item and press
E; now Enter the new value for this item. You must choose at which
Time periods the new value is to be included. To select the Time
period move the cursor using the right arrow key to the specific
name and press 1, this will highlight the name, press 0 to cancel
the selection. When the selection is complete press C.
To see the Time Periods for which a certain value is included
press ALT+O (Output Values), the Time periods for the highlighted
item will be displayed. Pressing ALT+T gives a total forecast
of all debits, credits and a final total of all values held within
the Master file.
When a Master File is displayed the Time periods can be changed
by pressing ALT+I, if this option is chosen all values are reset
to zero and the new Time Period names asked for.
Headings and Notes are all retained; this allows a Master file
to be converted for new Time Periods.
2 ... Create a Time Period File
This option allows a file to be created specifically to cover
a certain Time Period e.g. Month, Week, Day etc. Press 2 in the
main menu and you will be asked for the name of the Master File
from which the Time Period file is to be extracted. You will then
be asked for the relevant Time Period. To save confusion with
file names, all Master files have a file name of 4-8 characters
e.g. PROFLOSS, HOUSEKP etc and all Time period files have file
names of 3 characters e.g. YR1, WK1, MAR etc.
3 ... Load an Existing Time Period File.
Press 3 and enter the name of the Time period file you wish
to examine (WK2 is an example on the Money Master disc). The
information contained within the file should now be displayed on
the screen. If the file contains more than on page of data, press
P followed by a page number to see any other pages.
Items on the screen can be selected by positioning the
highlighter using the cursor arrow keys. To overwrite a current
value; select the item with the highlighter and press E, now Enter
the value and it will be displayed next to the heading. The
Credit, Debit and Final totals are updated as the values change.
The amount brought forward from a previous period can be entered
using B and a value. If you wish to annotate certain items with
relevant notes position the highlighter and press N, simply type
in a note e.g. A specific day within a month that a bill is to be
paid, or a cheque number etc.
To show that a note is present, the number preceding the item
name is highlighted. To look at an item's note press L, the note
will be displayed if available. To change an item heading select
the item and press Ctrl+H , the heading can be up to twelve
characters long. Ctrl+D changes the date or label at the top left
of the screen.
If you have modified a Time Period file and wish to keep the
original file, you can alter the file name by pressing Ctrl+C,
when you return to the main menu save the file with it,s new name
using option 9. To return to the main menu press Ctrl+R.
4... Simple Calculator.
This function available from the main menu allows you to make
simple calculations using an adding machine approach to input.
The calculator has 4 modes - plus, minus, multiply and divide.
When you first enter the calculator it is in the plus mode,
any numbers you enter are added together. To change the mode
simply press the relevant sign + , - , / , * . This sign can be
entered with or without a number, if the sign is entered with
a number, the number will be used. i.e. if you had a total of 100
and you entered (-60 or 60-) the total will be 40. When you have
changed the sign the calculator will remain in that mode until you
enter a new sign or return to the main menu. To clear the total
return to the main menu by entering R.
5... VAT or Service Charge Calculator.
This option allows you to either add or subtract a percentage
charge from a principle figure. When you first enter this option
by pressing 5 from the main menu you will be asked for a
percentage rate. Once this rate is entered it will remain active
until you leave Money Master or Change the rate by entering C when
using option 5. When the rate is fixed (i.e. 17.5 for VAT) the
screen will display the following if a 17.5% rate is fixed and
a principle amount of 100 entered.

The numbers to the left of the principle number are the value
of the item and VAT if the principle number was inclusive of VAT
and the numbers to the right, the VAT to be added if the principle
number is exclusive of VAT (service charge).
Any amount of principle numbers can be entered, a list of the
last twenty being shown. This information can be sent to printer
by entering P, entering P a second time will cancel the print out
option. To change the percentage enter C and to return to the
main menu enter R.
6 ... Full or Part Directory of the Disc.
This option allows the user to display the directory of the
disc, showing either files from Money Master by pressing D or the
whole directory by pressing any other key. For simplicity Money
Master always saves it's files into the directory in which the
program Money Master is held.
7 ... Print a File in Memory.
Any file either Master or Time period held in the memory can
be printed using this option. All item notes are printed at the
bottom of the page.
8 ... Display a File in Memory.
Any file held in memory can be displayed by pressing number
8. The files can then be edited and amended as previously
described.
9 ... Save File in Memory.
The file information on the left of the main menu shows the
current state of any file held in the memory. A warning of NOT
SAVED is displayed if the file has been modified. Press 9 to save
the file. The filename used to save the file can be changed using
Ctrl+C when editing.
SECURITY CODE: When saving a file a security code can be added to
protect the file from unauthorised tampering, this code can be up
to 8 characters long. If you do use a code it is important that
you remember it as it will be asked for when Loading through
options 1,2 and 3.
To save a file without a security code when option 9 has been
selected simply press the Return key.

Shareware.
This program is the complete version and supplied to you to
"Try before you buy", this is the method known as shareware. You
may try out the software, give it away to others complete with
documentation but if you use the program once you have ascertained
it's value to you, you must register. The registration fee gives
you a licence to use Money Master, telephone support and a say in
the future development of the product. The registration fee of
8.00 pound does not represent the true value of the product if
bought from a software company,this is the advantage of shareware.
As a company using the shareware system to market Money
Master we have little overheads like advertising, packaging and
distribution and therefore can pass the savings over to you the
customer. You have the advantage of trying out the software to
see if it is suitable and through registration, use of a low cost
package, ( Money Master has been on sale in the shops at 35.00
pound) and you can contact the programmer ( Not some salesman who
knows nothing about the package). The shareware system relies
upon your honesty, please support it.
When you register you will receive back a licence to use Money
Master and a disc containing other shareware by Glycar Computing.
If a new version of Money Master is available the disc will
contain the new version, the new version will be compatible with
the old version. Please remember to state the disc size.
