  1. The following four files are included in DMATE.ZIP:

  3.    DISKMATE.EXE
  4.    DISKMATE.DOC - The DISKMATE.DOC file is formatted with a left-hand margin
  5.                   for 3-hole punching and contains formfeeds for continuous
  6.                   sheets.  If sending the DOC file to a printer, start your
  7.                   paper about 1" from the top for proper top and bottom
  8.                   margins.
  9.    READ.ME -      (this file)
  10.    FIX.EXE -      IMPORTANT!!!  If you are upgrading to version 1.10 from any
  11.                   previous version, you must run FIX.EXE from the directory
  12.                   your current DiskMate databases reside (DISKFILE.DBF must be
  13.                   present).  If you are using DiskMate version 1.10 for the
  14.                   first time, or have already run FIX.EXE you can delete
  15.                   FIX.EXE.

  17.                  The purpose of FIX.EXE is to lengthen the database field
  18.                  containg directory information in the DISKFILE.DBF file.  The
  19.                  integrity of your existing DISKFILE.DBF will be preserved and
  20.                  this file will be renamed to DISKFILE.DBK.  Should any problem
  21.                  occur, you can simply rename DISKFILE.DBK back to
  22.                  DISKFILE.DBF.  Once you are satisfied that everything is
  23.                  working okay, you can delete the DISKFILE.DBK file and save
  24.                  the disk space.  Before running FIX.EXE, make sure you have
  25.                  enough free space on your hard drive at least equal to the
  26.                  size of your original DISKFILE.DBF.  If your database is
  27.                  large, this could take some time.  After the fix is made,
  28.                  FIX.EXE will reindex necessary files and let you know when it
  29.                  is done.

  34. >  F3 (Switch Floppy Drives) wasn't working.  Fixed.
  35. >  Number of Records (Main Menu) wasn't reflecting a current count after
  36.    deleting a box or disk and Packing the databases.  Fixed.

  38. Fixes/changes as of 05/04/92 (ver 1.10)

  40. >  Error Handler
  41.    In the event of an error, will create a small text file (ERROR.TXT)
  42.    indicating cause of error.  After file is written, you are returned to the
  43.    Main Menu where you can quit the program normally.  The information in the
  44.    ERROR.TXT file can then be sent to us for a remedy.

  46. > Minor Screen Enhancements -   Display of subdirectories and file names during
  47.                                 processing.

  49. > Alt-M (Monochrome monitor mode) - Changed to a toggle and updates Main
  50.                                     Menu screen accordingly.

  55.               to another.  Also provides for changing Disk Name or Description.

  59.                            File names sorted alphabetically by directories.
  60.                            Directory names printed (Full version).
  61.                            Controls for turning borders on or off.
  62.                            Type of border character (graphic or non-graphic).
  63.                            Ability to define and send printer codes for
  64.                            compressed and 8LPI.
  65.                            Multi-page labels (with fold-lines) showing ALL file
  66.                            names.

  68. > Default Disk Drive - Does not always default to A:.  If you change the
  69.                        Floppy drive (F3), it will remain the same (even on sub-
  70.                        sequent runs) until you change it again.

  72. > Better drive error handling.  If you leave drive door open or don't put in a
  73.                                 floppy, you won't get DOS error messages.
  74.                                 Instead you'll get a friendly notice and the
  75.                                 program will resume after you correct the
  76.                                 situation.

  78. > Longer DIRECTORY field in database - Allows for a longer chain of
  79.                                        subdirectories.
