  21. Product") is the correct and exact name of the product, no other
  22. similar name or type of product is licenced herein.   The Product
  23. is copyrighted software program product of Performance
  24. Technologies Ltd ("PTL"), PO Box 36, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12
  25. 8TE, England.  The Product is being distributed under the
  26. shareware distribution process and is intended for the personal
  27. use and enjoyment of the recipient.

  29. The Product is copyrighted and has been released for distribution
  30. as SHAREWARE.  Please note that a great deal of effort and time
  31. has invested in the development of this program.  You are granted
  32. a licence to try The Product for a reasonable trial period

  78. Bulletin Board Licence
  79. ----------------------

  81. 1.    Operators of electronic bulletin boards (Sysops) are hereby
  82.       licenced and encouraged to post The Product for downloading
  83.       by their users subject to the following provisions.  In
  84.       addition sysops are encouraged to keep the uploaded .ZIP
  85.       file name DDxxx.ZIP where xxx represents this version of
  86.       The Product (eg DD301.ZIP) so your users will know if they
  87.       have the latest version.

  89. 2.    The Product may be uploaded to and downloaded from
  90.       commercial systems such as CompuServe, the Source, and BIX,
  91.       so long as the only charge paid by the subscriber is for
  92.       on-line time and there is no charge for the program.  Those
  93.       copying, sharing, and/or electronically transmitting the
  94.       program are required not to delete or modify the copyright
  95.       notice and restrictive notices from the program or
  96.       documentation; anyone doing so will be treated as a
  97.       contributory copyright violator.

  100. 3.    If you, as a BBS sysop or user, are passing this program on
  101.       others, uploading it to a bulletin board system, or
  102.       including it in a users group library, do not separate the
  103.       files contained in the distribution archive - pass the
  104.       entire archive on to the intended party.  This ensures that
  105.       those who receive the program will have all the correct
  106.       configuration utilities and documentation necessary to get
  107.       The Product up and running quickly.  A listing of what
  108.       files you should have and the purpose of each is listed
  109.       later in this manual.

  130. Public Domain and Shareware Libraries

  134. 1.    Distributors of "public domain" or user-supported software
  135.       libraries must obtain written permission to distribute
  136.       copies of The Product.  No one may use The Product as a
  137.       promotion for any commercial venture or as an enticement
  138.       for the user to pay for any program, product, or service
  139.       unless they have received the express written permission of
  140.       Performance Technologies Ltd

  142. 2.    You must obtain written permission from Performance
  143.       Technologies Ltd to distribute The Product.  Please write
  144.       to us at the address below.  If you do not receive a reply,
  145.       write again: our silence does NOT constitute permission,
  146.       and you may not distribute, "pending" receipt of
  147.       permission.

  149. 3.    A maximum disk fee as set by Performance Technologies Ltd
  150.       in the above vendor contract must not be exceeded.  The
  151.       Product may not be included on any disk sold for more than
  152.       this maximum.  Major CD-ROM or optical disk libraries are
  153.       exempt from this restriction, provided that they have
  154.       Performance Technologies Ltd's permission to distribute The
  155.       Product.

  157. 4.    Vendors may not modify or delete ANY files on the disk. 
  158.       Vendors may add a "GO" program, and/or a reasonable number
  159.       of small text files designed to assist or provide a service
  160.       to the user, but these added files must be easily
  161.       identifiable and end-users must be allowed to delete the
  162.       added files.

  164. 5.    Vendors must make a reasonable effort to distribute only
  165.       the most recent versions of The Product.  All vendors who
  166.       have requested and received written permission to
  167.       distribute The Product will receive new MAJOR releases as
  168.       they are issued.

  170. 6.    Vendors must make an attempt to educate users on the nature
  171.       of Shareware.  Catalogues, advertisements, order forms, and
  172.       all disks sold should contain approved or recommended
  173.       wording describing the nature of shareware, and should
  174.       explicitly state that no part of disk sale revenues are
  175.       paid to the programs' authors.  When vendor catalogues or
  176.       advertisements carry both Shareware and PD programs, the
  177.       Shareware programs must be differentiated from the public
  178.       domain programs in some way (in the description, with an
  179.       asterisk, by listing the registration fee, etc.).

  187. copy.  The base registration fee is £49.95 Plus VAT (in UK Only). 
  188. With registration you will receive in return the latest version
  189. of The Product. which does not have the shareware messages and
  190. nags.

  193. which will aid you in registering your copy of The Product.

  223. NOTE TO SHAREWARE DEALERS:

  226. Shareware Dealers must contact Performance Technologies Ltd
  227. directly to apply for distribution.  Any request for shareware
  228. catalog inclusion requires that you send a current copy of your
  229. product catalog with your application, along with a blank
  230. diskette and mailer.  Once you have been approved, you will
  231. receive written permission from Performance Technologies Ltd to
  232. include The Product in your library for distribution. 
  233. Additionally, you will receive your diskette back containing the
  234. latest The Product release.  You must, in addition send each
  235. issue of your catalog as they are published to update our mailing
  236. list of active vendors.  Performance Technologies Ltd's continued
  237. receipt of your catalog will both enable us to verify that you
  238. have the most recent The Product release (within reason), and
  239. that your business is still active.
