HyperRez: Obvious <sum08 1 8>
==================
One problem with hypertext in knowing your "location" within a network
of information <link52>. The possible location solutions are:
Graphical networks -- Provide a command that shows a graphical
================== map of your location within a network.
HyperRez - Hierarchical networks -- Organize hypertext jumps into an obvious
================================ classification structure <link32 2 10>.
HyperRez - Backpath book-marks -- Right arrow leaves an automatic trail
============================== of highlighted hypertext jumps <link23>.
In my opinion, the need for location commands occur because developers
create too many circular instead of hierarchical hypertext jumps.
To automatically display a relative map of the current location
in a network using graphical formats (with icons symbolic of the
contents of each node) poses an interesting problem. Solutions reflect
a "mainframe computational mentality" rather than an understanding of
organizing structures that humans best comprehend <link37 1 16>.
