  8.        4DOS/DOS Batch  Utilities are the  copyrighted property of  Peter
  9.        Ogden.  You  are  granted  a  limited  license  to use, copy, and
  10.        distribute 4DDBU provided the following conditions are met:

  12.           A. Copying  and distribution fees may  not exceed fifteen (15)
  13.              Australian dollars.
  14.  
  15.           B. 4DDBU may  only be distributed in  its original, unmodified
  16.              state.

  18.        This software  is distributed under  the user supported  software
  19.        concept.  Though 4DDBU is copyrighted, you are encouraged to copy
  20.        and distribute this  program to others.  If you like this product
  21.        and find it useful, a  registration fee of twenty (20) Australian
  22.        dollars  is required for  continued  use.  Registered  users will
  23.        receive free  registration of RECON  (another product written  by
  24.        Peter  Ogden, formerly  called  REBOOT).  A twelve  month instant
  25.        update plan is  available (new versions will be  mailed to you as
  26.        soon  as they  are complete) for an  additional AUD$ 25.00.  Site
  27.        licenses are available.

  29.        The user  supported software concept (also  known as "shareware")
  30.        is an attempt  to provide quality software at low cost.  Both the
  31.        user and author benefit from this plan.  The user will benefit by
  32.        being able to "test  drive" software thoroughly before purchasing
  33.        it.  The author  benefits by  being able  to enter the commercial
  34.        software  market  while  avoiding  the  high  cost  of commercial
  35.        distribution.

  37.        This concept  helps many independent authors  and small companies
  38.        that would otherwise be discouraged from developing and promoting
  39.        their ideas.  It can only work with your support. If you obtain a
  40.        user supported program  from a friend and you  are still using it
  41.        after a few weeks,  then it is obviously  worth something to you,
  42.        and a contribution should be sent.
