CUTPASTE version 1.02 April 6, 1992
What's new
Using "-n" switch, a range of columns may be declared as numeric. With the
"-n" switch in the command line, the next argument (must be separated from the
"-n" switch by a space) will be checked for a numeric value. If the value of
the characters in the range spec is ZERO, the field will be output as blank
except that the right-most position of the field will contain a ZERO (0). This
will allow data to be formatted for loading into a database or spreadsheet
program where fields expecting numeric data may error if loaded with blanks or
alpha characters. Any non-numeric character will have a value of zero so if the
range of columns specified contains the phrase "one hundred thousand", the value
of the range of columns is zero.
CUTPASTE version 1.01 March 21, 1992
What's new
CUTPASTE now supports DB/C / DATABUS / Datapoint text file formats
(uncompressed). This is in addition to DOS text format (local). Input file
type (DOS, DB/C / DATABUS / Datapoint) is auto-detected and file type info is
reported to the screen. Output file type will default to DOS text format
(local) unless the "-d" switch is included in the command line. With the "-d"
switch, the output will be in DB/C / DATABUS / Datapoint text format
(uncompressed). Although the "-d" switch may appear anywhere in the command
line (after the input and optionl output file names), it must be separated from
other arguments by spaces and of course, cannot be imbedded inside another
argument.
All options available in version 1.00 have been retained and syntax remains
unchanged. See CUTPASTE.MAN for details.
