VP-Info Level 1 Release 3.30
WELCOME to VP-Info Level 1!
VP-Info Level 1 is a full featured compiled data base language. It is
fully relational, very fast, and provides a rich command set to perform
complex tasks with very few lines of code.
To get going, print the fast start file FASTART.DOC and follow the
instructions.
The full VP-Info Level 1 shareware disk set contains the following:
PROGRAM DISK
READ.ME - this file.
FASTART.DOC - We recommend that you print out this file and use it as
a guide to getting started.
VPI1.EXE and VPI1.MSG -
The files required to run VP-Info Level 1
VPI1.HLP -
The on-line help system.
VPI1.CNF -
A configuration file. The supplied file takes first time
users to a menu that drives a self-running demo as well as
the SAMPLES program that drives the presentation of the
collection of sample programs. After the first entry, the
user is taken directly to the SAMPLES menus. When you feel
ready, modify the file do do your own initialization, or
erase the file.
ORDER.DOC - our order form.
NEWSLETR.DOC - information about our newsletter-on-a-disk.
VENDOR.DOC - a message to shareware distributors.
ASPOMBD.DOC - information about the ASP ombudsman.
CHARITY.ZIP - a self-contained VP-Info application. This should be
unzipped into its own subdirectory and reviewed when you feel
ready to study a full VP-Info application.
In addition, there are a large number of files associated with the
self-running demonstration and the SAMPLES collection of programs.
You may want to place the files VPI1.EXE, VPI1.MSG, and VPI1.HLP in
a subdirectory that is on you DOS PATH. You can then run VP-Info from
anywhere on your computer.
MANUAL DISK
The manual is subdivided into four parts for ease of printing.
If your editor and viewing software can deal with the size, you may want
to combine the parts into one large file on your disk.
The file uses box characters to achieve a better look. If your printer
cannot print box characters, a fresh copy using printable characters
may be generated using the program PRTMANL.PRG included on the manual
disk. This VP-Info Level 1 program is an interesting example to add to
the collection. Reading the fast start document will give you sufficient
information to run VP-Info Level 1 programs.
The manual disk also contains:
CHARITY.ZIP - a self-contained VP-Info application. This should be
unzipped into its own subdirectory and reviewed when you feel
ready to study a full VP-Info application.
VP-Info Level 1 is provided as is by SUB ROSA PUBLISHING INC. No warranty
is offered or implied. It is offered as SHAREWARE on a try before you
buy basis. It is not free.
We can be reached by phone or mail at the address above, or on
CompuServe at 72010,1323.
The registered version of VP-Info Level 1 has the identical set of features.
There are a few small differences:
The version number is 3.80 instead on 3.30.
There is no registation solicitation.
A start-up program can be specified at the command line, avoiding the
Sub Rosa sign on messages.
