  3. "During the process of record alignment on specified segment  POWER COPY"
  4. "will reject move pairs that contain source,  target  (or both)  records"
  5. "that have been used as the source/target of a record pairing."

  7. "There are MANY instances in which you would wish to reject  duplicates."
  8. "Only you know the data you are moving and how it should align.   I wish"

  11. "Whether or not you opt for the suppression of duplicates  they  will be"
  12. "found (if they occur) and the dialog box will list the number found for"
  13. "the source and target records."

  15. "Finding/suppressing duplicates is quite useful in finding errors before"
  16. "they happen.  The inter-base update operation usually adheres to one of"
  17. "three scenarios:  Data from a source record is supposed to go to multi-"
  18. "ple target records,  Data from multiple source records  is  supposed to"
  19. "go to a single target record, Or data from a single source record needs"
  20. "to travel to only one target record."

  22. "In the first scenario the existence of a target dup would indicate that"
  23. "a target record was receiving data from more than one source record and"
  24. "that would probably be an error.  Vice-versa for the second scenario."

  26. "In the third scenario dupes in ether file would be an error."

  28. "If you opt for duplicate rejection in any of the available formats  you"
  29. "will be prompted to make your printed ready before  datafile  alignment"
  30. "is executed.  If dupes are found in the file(s) you specified they will"
  31. "be listed to  the  printer.   If not the report,  and the totals in the"
  32. "dialog box will be blank."

  34. "If you need to exit  POWER COPY  and make corrections to the  datafiles"
  35. "you may do so by pressing F10 after the alignment is finished."
