  3. "DATAMAGE will perform three kinds of deletion operations:"
  4.  
  5. "DELETE RECORD FROM CURRENT GROUP:"
  6.  
  7. "If you opt to delete the record from the group it will disappear from"
  8. "the browse screen, and will not be included in subsequent operations."
  9. "The affect of removing a record from the group is temporary; pressing"
  10. "F11 will restore the record again."
  11.  
  12. "DELETE RECORD FROM FILE:"
  13.  
  14. "If you opt to delete  the  record from the file it is permanently and"
  15. "absolutely DESTROYED.  There is NO WAY to get it back."
  16.

  18. "DELETE EACH RECORD IN CURRENT GROUP:"
  19.  
  20. "This function was placed in this program due to a significant  amount"
  21. "of user-feedback from those keeping large  files and needing to purge"
  22. "data in multiple records, and against my better judgment."
  23.  
  24. "In providing you with the capabilities to do what you want to do this"
  25. "program also provides you with the ability to do what you  DON'T want"
  26. "to do.  DATAMAGE is a toolbox.  If you use the 13 pound sledge hammer"
  27. "(accidentally or not) to repair your watch then don't blame the tool-"
  28. "box for the results of your efforts."

  30. "Before permanently destroying ALL the records now in the group,  this"
  31. "function displays a warning in the main data display area,  and beeps"
  32. "at you  twice.   More than this would be a boor,  but  no  amount  of"
  33. "prompting will save some poor sole from saying:"

  35. "Oh, ****!  I just BLEW AWAY 6,000 records!   (will they FIRE me....?)"
  36.
