A SUGGESTION
++++++++++++
Several Wildcat! SysOps have written to me over the past several months to
express their appreciation for the SysOp utilities I've written. As you
probably know, all of my utilities are public domain. I don't seek, and
won't accept donations or registration fees for any of them.
Recently, the group at Technique Computer Systems, the people who wrote
TomCat!, came up with an interesting idea. They released a utility called
TCRENUM, which renumbers your Wildcat! message database and resets pointers
both in USERFILE.DAT and in TCUSER.DAT. Instead of charging a registration
fee, they suggested that sysops make a charitable donation as a way of saying
'Thanks' for the utility.
I found that to be an intriguing approach ... and I obtained their permission
to 'borrow' the same concept:
If you're using SysOp Utilities from the Charlatan's Cabin BBS, I'd like to
invite you to send a contribution to your favorite charity as a token of
thanks for the programmer's efforts.
I won't suggest any particular amount, or any particular charity, but if you
feel like letting me know about it, drop a post card or a note to:
Michael Conley, SysOp

Thanks for thinking about it ... and remember that suggestions or problem
reports are best handled if you leave me a comment on the board, either by
calling the Charlatan's Cabin at (213) 654-7337, or via RIME, address your
mail to Michael Conley, routed to ->CABIN in either the Wildcat conference
or the Common conference. (Please be sure to send it ROUTED ... by placing
the node id on the FIRST line of the text like this:
->CABIN
Thanks ...
Michael Conley
