-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The RATS data file structure was changed in Rats V1.20.
Please read the RATS.NEW file for info on upgrading your current RATS data
and configuration files.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
RATSCFG is an easy to use configuration editor for RATS V1.20
Change to the RATS subdirectory, and run RATSCFG.
The first thing you will see is a brief information screen. Hit any key
to continue.
You will see a Menu Bar across the top of the screen. This documentation is
broken down into these sections.
INFORMATION
-----------
Credits
-------
Credit where credit is due <grin>
Registration
------------
Information on registering RATS in North America. There are
registration forms included with the distribution archive, but
this is one you won't lose! <grin>
RATSCFG Colors
--------------
Don't like the colors I chose for the editor? OK, so change em
here.. This section is self-explanatory...
BANK SETUP
----------
Pick Node #
-----------
If you already have configuration files, then you will see a list
of existing files, otherwise you will be prompted for a node #.
If you are running a single line system, then this will be node 0.
Either pick an existing file, or hit ESCAPE, and you will be
prompted for a new node # to create a config file for.
Files And Paths
---------------
This is where you enter the information RATS needs to find the
files it needs.
Node Number
-----------
This should contain the current node number you are editing
the config file for. Changing this is not recommended, as it does
not force the creation of a new file.
Path To Dorinfo1.Def / Exitinfo.Bbs
-----------------------------------
This is the FULL PATH to your drop files for this node. The
config file itself resides in the RATS directory, and this path
is used to locate the drop files created by RA/QBBS for this
particular node. If you do not append the backslash character
to the path, it will be appended automatically.
Path To THEBANK.EXT
-------------------
This is where RATS will look for a file called THEBANK.EXT
which is created by other doors etc allowing the automatic
deposit/withdrawal of time from RATS. This should generally
point to your BBS System Directory.
Bank Limits
-----------
This is the screen which makes RATS a very powerful, and extremely
configurable Time Banking System for your BBS. It is here where
you can set the limits which allow or disallow users to perform
specific operations while in the TimeBank.
Name Of Bank
------------
You may assign any name you like to the Bank. This will be
displayed on the top line when the user is using RATS.
Minimum Security
----------------
This is the minimum security level needed to access RATS.
If a user loads RATS and has a security level lower than this,
then he will be informed that he/she does not have enough access
to use the TimeBank. You may assign any level from 1 through
64,000
Usage Before Deposit
--------------------
The user will be required to use the BBS for this amount of time
before they will be permitted to access the banking functions.
If set to 0, then the user may simply log onto the bbs, go
directly to the TimeBank and deposit/withdraw/transfer Time
And/Or KBytes. You may assign a value of 0 to 30 minutes here.
Inactivity Timeout
------------------
If a user falls asleep, or otherwise becomes occupied while using
the TimeBank, then after this time period expires, RATS will
abort back to the BBS. This value may be set from 2 to 10 minutes.
Time Remaining To Access
------------------------
The user MUST have at least this amount of time remaining in order
to access the TimeBank. If you set this to 5 minutes, and the
user has less than 5 minutes remaining, they will NOT be able to
access the Bank. You may set this anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes.
Maximum Time Deposit
--------------------
This is the MAXIMUM time that a user can deposit into his/her
account on any one day. You may specify from 0 to 1440 Minutes
(0 disables deposits altogether, 1440 is 24 hours)
Maximum Time Withdraw
---------------------
This is the MAXIMUM time a user may withdraw from his/her account
on any one day. You may specify from 0 to 1440 minutes.
(0 disables withdrawals)

to another user who has an account in RATS. You may specify from

his/her account. You may specify from 0 to 64,000 minutes.
(0 means there is no maximum limit)
Maximum K-Byte Deposit
----------------------
This is the MAXIMUM K-Bytes that a user can deposit into his/her
account on any one day. You may specify from 0 to 5000 K.
(0 disables deposits)

account on any one day. You may specify from 0 to 5000 K
(0 disables withdrawals)

to another user who has an account in RATS. You may specify from
0 to 30,000 K. (0 Disables K-Byte Transfers)
Maximum K-Byte Balance
----------------------
This is the MAXIMUM amount of K-Bytes that a user may have stored
in his/her account. You may specify from 0 to 64,000 K.
(0 means there is no maximum limit)
Maximum K-Byte Purchase
-----------------------
This is the MAXIMUM number of K-Bytes a user may purchase using
time from their account. You may specify from 0 to 5000 K.
(0 disables K-Byte Purchasing)
K-Byte Cost in Minutes
----------------------
For each K-Byte the user purchases, this amount of time is deducted
from his/her account. You may specify from 1 to 5000 minutes per
K-Byte.
Colors
------
Here is where you can customise the colors of RATS to make them match
your own BBS. This screen is self explanatory.
Save Config
-----------
You will be shown the current filename, and prompted whether to save
it or not.
MAINTENANCE
-----------
View Users
----------
List all users who have an account in RATS. This shows their name,
current Time/Byte balance, and the last date they accessed RATS, and
if the user is marked for deletion.
Edit Users
----------
Allows you to search for, and edit any users account. You may modify
their Time or K-Byte balance.
Delete User
-----------
Will prompt you for a search string, then ask you if you wish
to delete matching names. If the user was already marked for
deletion, then you will be prompted whether you wish to UN-Delete
this user. NOTE, you may only un-delete a user BEFORE running the
PURGE command.
Purge Users
-----------
This will pack the RATS.DAT file, removing any users marked for
deletion. Note RMU does this in its maintenance cycle.
REPORTS
-------
BankBook Records
----------------
This will create an ASCII file in the current directory which lists
the transaction reports. RMU will trim this file so that it keeps
only the last 7 days transactions. The file created is named
BANKBOOK.RPT.
User Balances
-------------
This will create an ASCII file in the current directory, with a list
of all users with accounts, and their balances etc. This file is
named USERS.RPT.
EXIT
----
Quit To DOS
-----------
This Exits RATSCFG. (Note, you MUST explicitly SAVE the
configuration information, this does NOT save anything).
