Manual of FLSEARCH 2.00 by Roland Guyt for PROXYON software.
Legal Stuff
===========
This software comes with no warranty whatsoever. The author is not responsible

engineering of the program is not allowed.
FLSEARCH II is not Public Domain! FLSEARCH I was, but I changed my mind.
Flsearch is just free to use, but it's not public domain. Nobody can ask ANY
money for it!
What is FLSEARCH?
=================
Flsearch is a program that simply creates a textfile with all paths to
all your fileareas from RA's config file, optionally with securitylevel
and description. Frontdoor requires a list with requestable directories,
that's why I made it in the first place, but it can also be used for
programs such as FidoFam and FEBBS and many more programs, because it is
fully configurable.
Requirements
============
Flsearch only works with Remote Access 1.00 or higher.
You just need a reasonable machine, with a reasonable DOS version.
(version 1.00 won't work!). It works on PC/XT machines.
How to get started
==================
It's easy.. just type FLSEARCH CONFIG at the command line and answer
the questions. The are explained below:
Name of output file
Obvious.. Just type any name you want to have the textfile with the path
and optionally the security and description fields.
Run FLSEARCH in complete mode?
If yes is answered, flsearch will put path, securitylevel and description
(the name field in RA) in the outputfile. Also, if yes is answered, it
will ask more questions in configuration mode. If you answer N here, only
the paths will be in the outputfile. Frontdoor requires this mode e.g.
If you answer yes, skip to Do-not-use path in this document.
Type character for word spacing.
Some programs require_underscores between the words in_the_description_field_
like_this. You can also type just a space or any character your program
requires. When you type _, here is an example of a possible outputline:
d:\bbs 5 All_kinds_of_BBS_software
Do you want columns?
Yes continues at 'In what column do you want ..'
No continues at 'Number of paths you do not want in the outputfile?'
In what column do you want ..
You can configure on what column you want the path, security or description
in the outputfile. For example, you can get the following output:
d:\bbs 5 All kinds of BBS software
d:\geninf 1 General information
^ ^ ^
1 20 30
Number of paths you do not want in the outputfile?
You can enter the number of exceptions of the directories you don't
want to see in the outputfile. (max 10)
Do-not-use path ..
You can enter up to 10 paths you do not want in the outputfile. So e.g.
you don't want d:\bbs in the outputfile just enter d:\bbs. Flsearch will
not check if the path really exist, so be sure to spell it right.
Usage
=====
FLSEARCH
You can simply execute FLSEARCH without any parameters. It then searches
for FILES.RA. If you have the RA environment string set, you can run
FLSEARCH in any directory. Without the environment string (set ra=[path] in
your autoexec.bat) FLSEARCH must be in the same directory as your FILES.RA.
There are two optional parameters, all the rest is ignored:
CONFIG.. enter FLSEARCH's config mode (see above)
HELP .. display a short reminder on the usage.
If FLSEARCH can't create or open a file, it will exit with a verbal message
explaining the error.
