  6. +  3 7  - The heady 80s are over, in case you haven't noticed.
  7. +         More than ever, you need to be careful with your investments. BBSE is
  8. +         going to show you how!
  9. +         You have $10,000 in cash to start the game (you decided that you
  10. +         could do better than current rates, so you didn't roll over that CD)
  11. +         and, after careful research, ten issues to choose from. You've got
  12. +         ten years to make your fortune; you'll get an annual report every year
  13. +         to chart your progress.

  16. +  3 7  - The game screen consists of a grid listing the ten stocks
  17. +         you can choose from, current value, percentage change from year to
  18. +         year and value by year.
  19. +         During the game, you can [B]uy or [S]ell as many issues as you have
  20. +         cash on hand for; [L]ist the profiles of the companies; check your
  21. +         own [P]layer portfolio. When you have finished trading for a year
  22. +         (turn), you move on to the [N]ext year to see how your hunches paid
  23. +         off.
  24. +         Additionally, you can [R]edraw Board (refresh screen, no other
  25. +         action); read the [I]nstructions (this file); check your [T]ime
  26. +         remaining to play; or [Q]uit the game.

  30. +  3 7  - At the beginning of your first year, all ten stocks have
  31. +         equal value ($100); a wise investor always examines the profile of
  32. +         a company before investing! Once you have picked your issues, begin
  33. +         [B]uying; you will see how many shares you can buy and after a
  34. +         purchase, your current cash-on-hand will be displayed. Check your
  35. +         [P]layer portfolio often!
  36. +         When you have completed your buy/sell binge for the year, it's time
  37. +         to move to [N]ext year. As the screen updates, you will see how all
  38. +         the stocks performed and be informed of your dividend income for the
  39. +         year.
  40. +         You will, no doubt, notice that when you check your portfolio, you'll
  41. +         see a listing for "Computer Assets;" you are not only playing the
  42. +         odds in the marketplace, you are playing against an opponent that
  43. +         makes investments behind your back. Your performance in the
  44. +         game is compared to the computer's to determine your final score.

  48. +  3 7  - After you have made all your wise investment decisions and
  49. +         run the game out to the final year, check your portfolio to see
  50. +         how you did overall, then [Q]uit to exit to the Hall of Fame. If
  51. +         your score qualifies you for a Hall of Fame entry, your name or
  52. +         handle will be automatically added to the Hall and you'll see your
  53. +         name in lights.
  54. +         If your Sysop allows multiple plays of the game, you will be asked
  55. +         if you want to play again; otherwise, you will be returned to the
  56. +         BBS.
