  2.         [v2.3] When using the MMAINT program to search for a user, using their
  3.                Logon Name, a match would not be found. it would work fine for
  4.                a search by Handle. 
  5.  
  6.                With this version the use of the Personal Identification Number
  7.                (PIN) has been eliminated.
  8.                
  9. 04/01/92
  10.         [v2.2] If a caller chose to change all the answers to the questionaire,
  11.                their changes were not being recorded in their database record.
  12.  
  13.                Several complaints that the "brown on black" colors were hard to
  14.                read on some monitors. Changed them to yellow.
  15.  
  16.                When a new user is presented with their PIN, they will be
  17.                required to re-enter it. Hopefully this will remind them that
  18.                they must write the number down.

  20.                Under certain circumstances a new caller will fill out all of
  21.                their info and answer all the questions, logoff and call back
  22.                in again only to be told that their First Name/Alias already 
  23.                exists.. this version will fix the problem but you must run the
  24.                maintenance program once and re-index the master file.

  26.                You can now use an environmental variable for Non-Standard
  27.                IRQs. This will eliminate the need to have multiple batch 
  28.                files to execute the door. See DOCs under NON-STANDARD COM
  29.                SUPPORT for details.
  30.  
  31.                You can now use environmental variables, on the first line
  32.                of the configuration file. This will eliminate the requirement
  33.                that you create an individual configuration file for each node
  34.                in a multinode environment (ONE config file for ALL nodes!!).

  38.         [v2.1] One more time... Error #63 , when a new user was being added
  39.                to the INDEX files. The user was being added to the main 
  40.                database, but not to the Index file. If you have users that
  41.                attempted to get into the door but enountered the error 63,
  42.                then run the MMAINT pgm and select option # 5. This will 
  43.                recreate the indexes and the users that had gotten the Error
  44.                63 will now be indexed. Sorry again for the inconvenience..

  48.         [v2.0] Error # 63, when a new user is being added to the database.
  49.                Sorry for the inconvenience, as this should have been caught
  50.                during version 1.9 testing (author choking himself!!!)

  53.         [v1.9] Added time remaining as part of each menu prompt.

  55.                MMWELCOM file would not stop scrolling if there was a full
  56.                screen. This change will now allow the file to be of an 
  57.                unlimited length.

  59.                Added a new option to the maintenance program (MMAINT) to
  60.                clear all questionaire answers in every users record. This
  61.                will allow the Sysop to institute a new set of questions and
  62.                the user will be forced to answer them the next time they use
  63.                the door. A new text file called MMNEWQUE.TXT is required. A
  64.                sample file is included in this ZIP. You may change it anyway
  65.                you want. This option requires the Door to be REGISTERED!

  67.                There was a report of 2 callers accessing the door at the same
  68.                time. Both were new and when they finished answering the 
  69.                questions, both were added to the MMINDEX files, but only one 
  70.                was added to the master file. Rewrote one of the routines and 
  71.                this should fix the problem.

  73.                The birth date entered by the user, will be displayed as the
  74.                Birth Sign (Aries, Leo, etc) when being displayed with option
  75.                #5 and option #6.

  77.                Changed the screen used to list all MatchMaker users to 
  78.                accomodate the Birth Sign display.

  80.                With this version, you will NOT be able to display a screen at
  81.                logoff, showing the name(s) of those that may have adopted the
  82.                door. This was necessary to make room in the program for more

  85.                Expanded the number of lines you can enter in a message from

  88.                After entering a message you are presented with a choice of 
  89.                saving, editing, etc. If you pressed enter you would be returned
  90.                to the Message Center menu, thus losing what you had entered. 
  91.                Now, if you press enter you will be asked the question again.

  93.                When you aborted a message it would take you back to the Main
  94.                menu. It will now take you back to the Message Center menu.

  96.                Added a reminder, at the bottom of the screen, as to the number

  100.         [v1.8] If caller chose Option #1, then Option #5 (chose someone to 
  101.                review), pressed "E" to prematurely terminate the answers 
  102.                display, then chose Option #1 again, the callers info would
  103.                be replaced with the info from the person previously reviewed.

  105.                Some BBS Software was generating mixed case for the caller's 
  106.                name, thus erroneously reporting that a caller's alias was 
  107.                already in use!

  109.                If a caller reads all mail addressed to him/her, logs off and 
  110.                comes back on, the system tells him/her that there is mail 
  111.                waiting. When the caller goes to the Message area and tries
  112.                to read the personal mail the system just goes back to the 
  113.                menu as if it did nothing. In actuality there were no messages
  114.                to read. Problem existed in the routine used to check for mail
  115.                at logon.

  117.                Under certain circumstances, the program would display a msg
  118.                that there were no matches, even though there were matches 
  119.                displayed on the screen.

  121.                Made several changes to the screen displays. Nothing dramatic.

  126.          [v1.7] Entering a message to someone, already in the database, the
  127.                 program did not recognize their existance.

  129.                 Changed Message database structure to allow the existance of
  130.                 unlimited number of messages in the registered version. This 
  131.                 requires that you remove line number 10 from the Config file!

  133.                 If you have an existing Message database, you must run the
  134.                 maintainance program and select option #3 (Recreate Message
  135.                 Indexes).

  137.                 When trying to backspace over characters you entered, while
  138.                 logged on LOCALLY, the system would lock up.

  141.          [v1.6] Corrected a problem whereby caller reading personal messages
  142.                 was getting the correct header info (To, From, Subject), but

  154.                 "Adopt-A-Door". If you wish you may use the ADOPTxx.ZIP to
  155.                 promote this concept. ADOPTxx.ZIP is part of the Sunrise 
  156.                 Door Collection!

  159.                 first visit?" prompt.

  161.                 I have now made the WELCOME screen an external file. This will
  162.                 allow you to use your own words to greet your callers and/or
  163.                 define the ground rules for the use of the MatchMaker Door.
  164.                 NOTE: Registered versions of MatchMaker have the option of 
  165.                       using a Welcome screen, non-registered versions MUST
  166.                       use the supplied welcome file called MMWELCOM and MUST
  167.                       not make ANY changes to the text!
  168.                 If you create your own text file, be sure you name it MMWELCOM
  169.  
  170.                 Added a new option to the CFG file. This option will allow you
  171.                 to DISABLE the Message Center function. This option will be 
  172.                 line number 9. 1 = yes, allow callers to leave/read message
  173.                                0 = no, do not allow any message functions
  174.  
  175.                 If a new caller used the door AND did not choose to use the 3
  176.                 lines of optional information, the information from the last
  177.                 entry in the database was being used. This should be fixed!

  179.                 When making a match, and no matches were found, the "No matches
  180.                 Found" message was not always being displayed. While I was 
  181.                 fixing this I also changed the wording of the message, as 
  182.                 suggested by a Sysop.

  184.                 New option added to config file to control the number of
  185.                 messages you want to allow in the message database. This option
  186.                 is being added for those with memory constraints. This will be
  187.                 removed in a subsequent release.

  189.                 Redesigned the User index files. This will now allow an 
  190.                 UNLIMITED number of users to exist in the database, rather than 
  191.                 the imposed 1000 limit. If you are upgrading from a prior 
  192.                 release you MUST run MMIXCVRT.EXE. MMIXCVRT will convert your
  193.                 MMAST.INX file into index files named MMINDEX and 
  194.                 MINDEX.A - MINDEX.Z (You can then delete MMAST.INX).
  195.  
  196.                 Maintenance program (MMAINT) has been enhanced so you do not 
  197.                 have to define the purge criteria on the command line when 
  198.                 running it locally. Purge criteria will be requested when you 
  199.                 choose the option on the menu. An option was also added to 
  200.                 allow for the recreation of the User Indexes.
  201.  
  202.                 If you choose to change the Questionaire Answers, you will be
  203.                 asked to confirm since once you start you can not stop.
  204.  
  205.                 Cleared up a number of Error 55 problems.

  208.          [v1.4] If you entered a message line that did not contain a blank 
  209.                 (ie: one continuous line of text) the program would abort with
  210.                 an "Illegal Function Call", Error # 5. - Fixed

  212.                 Some Error # 63s were showing up in the Error Log. I found
  213.                 some possible causes. Please keep an eye peeled for any
  214.                 reoccurances.

  216.                 Duplicate Alias' were being allowed, under certain 
  217.                 circumstances, believe I got this one fixed.

  219.                 Error #70 when running under a metwork environment. This was
  220.                 a file sharing problem.  - Fixed

  223.          [v1.3] If caller attempts to enter more than one alias the program
  224.                 rejects the attempt. In prior versions the caller was 
  225.                 immediately returned back to the BBS. This change allows for
  226.                 3 attempts to get things right...
  227.  
  228.                 Added the ability(optional) for each user to add a narrative
  229.                 about themselves; 3 lines/74 characters per line. The prompts
  230.                 will be presented to each NEW caller... all present users can
  231.                 update theirs by choosing option 1 on the Main Menu and then
  232.                 changing any or all of the 3 lines (lines 6, 7, 8). BE SURE
  233.                 TO NOTIFY YOUR CALLERS OF THIS CHANGE (if you are already
  234.                 running MatchMaker).

  238.                 When the user chooses option 5, he/she will be presented with
  239.                 a new screen of information, prior to being shown the answers
  240.                 to the questionaire. Included in the display will be everything
  241.                 the user entered (City,State,Age....etc).

  244.          [v1.2] Added an option to control when you DO NOT want the DOOR
  245.                 to be used. Allows for 5 Blackout periods. This requires

  249.                 entered and allow for caller to delete them.

  251.                 Added an option to the "Private Message Center" menu to
  252.                 allow the Sysop to review every message in the message
  253.                 base and optionally delete any he/she finds inappropriate.
  254.                 This option will appear on the menu for the Sysop only,
  255.                 however, it can only be chosen if the Door is REGISTERED.

  258.          [v1.1] MMAINT maintenance program accessed the Menu during an 
  259.                 Event. Fixed

  261.                 Match screen display changed to include the match 
  262.                 percentage(%) for each entry selected.

  264.                 "File Already OPEN" error message displayed if you ran 
  265.                 a match and received "No Matches" then ran the match 
  266.                 process again. FIXED.

  269.                 "B" Sex option the program would not find matches. FIXED

  271.                 The match percentage algorythm, was incorrect. FIXED
