  31. Simple viewer for taking quick looks inside dBASE-compatible .DBF files in
  32. record and browse modes.  Does single-field, scan-across searches.  File
  33. header info, including field definitions, can be displayed either in
  34. interpreted (human-readable) format, or as hex bytes.  Editing of fields in
  35. both record and browse modes enabled by command-line switch.  New:  New
  36. searches automatically start from the first record.  The user may include
  37. default start-up switches in a configuration file.

  45. Employs external compressors and uncompressors (user-selectable) to
  46. transparently compress and uncompress files from within the program.
  47. Currently supported are AXE, DIET, EXEPACK, ICE, LEXEM, LZEXE, PKLITE,
  48. SCRNCH, SHRINK and TINYPROG.  New:  DIRX.CFG may now include command-line
  49. switches.

  56. Update to one of my most frequently reached for programs.  Binary editor,
  57. with record orientation, which allows searches for either text or hex
  58. strings.  Changes from v3.01 include:  Default record size now set to
  59. maximum allowed by number of lines on screen.  (Maximum record size is 576
  60. bytes with a 50-line screen.)  The program draws from a common library of
  61. routines shared with other programs I've written.  Color or black-and-white
  62. mode automatically determined at program start-up.

  68. Allows you to see how a ZIP file is laid out on disk.  Uses windowing to
  69. step down to lower levels of detail.  Displays header offsets and most field
  70. values, including their interpretation.  Admittedly, this program isn't for
  71. everyone.  For the curious and those with a need to know, however, this
  72. program displays technical data on ZIP files that I haven't seen in any
  73. other program.  New:  Select files for viewing from a pop-up, scrollable
  74. directory window.  Updated for ZIP 2.0.

  77.        TITLE:  Cyclic Redundancy Checker v1.20, 02/08/92

  80. Displays 16- and 32-bit CRC's of files or directory contents.  16-bit CRC
  81. same as for ARC, LZH, LZS, PAK and ZOO files.  32-bit CRC same as for ARJ
  82. and ZIP.  "CRC filespec" displays individual CRC's for the specified
  83. file(s).  "CRC path" displays accumulated CRC's of all files contained in
  84. the specified directory.  May be used to compare files/directories on
  85. physically separated machines, or to see if changes have occurred over time.
  86. New:  The functions of both CRC v1.14 and CRCDIR v1.00 have been combined
  87. into a single program.

  93. Smaller, simpler version of DirX for when you just want a listing of
  94. compressed and uncompressed files.  Listing is redirectable to printer or
  95. file.  Mimicks DOS's DIR command, to an extent.  No sorting is performed.
  96. New:  Extends recognition of files compressed with LZEXE (hacked headers)
  97. and DIET (additional headers).
