- Welcome!
-
- InfoPad (tm) is a character graphics drawing tool. It provides
- a simple drawing facility, needed in many applications today,
- through the use of just the keyboard. It is an easy to use
- alternative to graphics drawing and CAD systems with their esoteric
- constructs, overhead and engineering complexity.
- InfoPad is based on the premise that even a small picture is
- better than no picture at all, and illustrates the old saying
- "A picture is worth a thousand words" (not to mention the lines
- of code).
-
- System Requirements
-
- InfoPad will run on any IBM-PCs or compatible with 384 KB
- of memory, hard disk, VGA or EGA color display adapter and
- MS-DOS version 3.1 or greater.
-
-
- Features
-
- o Information is organized on the pages of pad. Each
- pad can contain up to 9500 pages.
- Each page is 120 columns wide and 60 lines long.
-
- o Functions allow the drawing of lines, boxes and text,
- as well as user-defined objects or icons.
-
- o A drawing can span more than one page and a pad can be
- "linked" to other pads to accomodate any "image".
-
- o Navigation through the images on the pages is done by
- simple keystrokes and automatic scrolling.
-
- o User-objects are easily defined and manipulated,
- and can be quickly searched for throughout the pad.
-
- o Interfaces are provided to/from InfoPad so that
- one can "link" any application to an object on the
- pad's page.
-
- o Text can be imported into a pad from any ASCII
- based file.
-
-
- Components
-
- A pad is composed of pages, objects (icons), notes,
- lines and boxes.
-
- o Pages are numbered from 1 to 9500.
- o Objects are represented by icons. Each icon has a
- name which is displayed on the page when the cursor
- is placed on the icon.
- o Objects can also have notes associated with them.
- o Lines or boxes are used to visually connect or group the
- objects on a page.
-
-
