  4.      InfoPad (tm) is a character graphics drawing tool. It provides
  5.      a simple drawing facility, needed in many applications today,
  6.      through the use of just the keyboard.    It is an easy to use
  7.      alternative to graphics drawing and CAD systems with their esoteric
  8.      constructs, overhead and engineering complexity.
  9.      InfoPad is based on the premise that even a small picture is
  10.      better than no picture at all, and illustrates the old saying
  11.      "A picture is worth a thousand words" (not to mention the lines
  12.      of code).

  14.       System Requirements
  15.  
  16.      InfoPad will run on any IBM-PCs or compatible with 384 KB
  17.      of memory, hard disk, VGA or EGA color display adapter and
  18.      MS-DOS version 3.1 or greater.

  21.       Features
  22.  
  23.           o    Information is organized on the pages of pad. Each
  24.            pad can contain up to 9500 pages.
  25.            Each page is 120 columns wide and 60 lines long.
  26.  
  27.           o    Functions allow the drawing of lines, boxes and text,
  28.            as well as user-defined objects or icons.
  29.  
  30.           o    A drawing can span more than one page and a pad can be
  31.            "linked" to other pads to accomodate any "image".
  32.  
  33.           o    Navigation through the images on the pages is done by
  34.            simple keystrokes and automatic scrolling.
  35.  
  36.           o    User-objects are easily defined and manipulated,
  37.            and can be quickly searched for throughout the pad.
  38.  
  39.           o    Interfaces are provided to/from InfoPad so that
  40.            one can "link" any application to an object on the
  41.            pad's page.

  43.           o    Text can be imported into a pad from any ASCII
  44.            based file.

  47.       Components
  48.  
  49.      A pad is composed of pages, objects (icons), notes,
  50.      lines and boxes.
  51.  
  52.      o   Pages are numbered from 1 to 9500.
  53.      o   Objects are represented by icons.    Each icon has a
  54.          name which is displayed on the page when the cursor
  55.          is placed on the icon.
  56.      o   Objects can also have notes associated with them.
  57.      o   Lines or boxes are used to visually connect or group the
  58.          objects on a page.

  61.       Installation
  62.  
  63.      Create a sub-directory for InfoPad on the hard disk as
  64.      follows:

  70.      Insert the diskette in the A: or B: [Drive] and type
  71.  
  72.                  COPY [Drive:]*.*
  73.      then type:         IP_SETUP

  88.      We highly recommended the use one of any public domain
  89.      keyboard speedup programs available. This will make
  90.      cursor movement around the screen much more friendly.
  91.      Look for SETKEY.COM or QUICKEY.COM on your favorite BBS.

  94.       Starting InfoPad
  95.  
  96.      To start InfoPad, type the command:

  98.               PAD  [Enter]
  99.  
  100.      A copyright notice will appear for a moment, then the
  101.      contents of the first page will be displayed.
