  10. Your F-16 has capabilities in both air-to-air warfare and air-to-ground.
  11. This mission provides a means to hone your employment of air-to-ground
  12. ordnance.  Over the next 50 miles, there are a series of targets laid
  13. out.  Your aircraft is armed with three different guided air-to-ground
  14. weapons - Maverick, HARM, GBU-10.  The AGM-65 Maverick is a TV guided weapon;
  15. the AGM-88 HARM guides against transmitting radars, and the GBU-10 is
  16. guided by a laser designator on the F-16.  To launch the Maverick,
  17. select the TVSU on the multi-function display, lock on a target, and
  18. fire.  Alternatively, you can designate a target on the air-to-ground
  19. radar and launch a Maverick off that track.  To launch a HARM, select an
  20. emitting target on the radar display and fire.  To launch a GBU-10,
  21. select a target on either the TVSU or on the radar.  Launching any of
  22. these weapons without a properly selected target will cause a ballistic
  23. launch where the weapon will not guide.  You can also fire the gun
  24. against ground targets.  However, the gun is only effective against soft
  25. targets.  As you approach the targets near the center of the target
  26. complex, note the RWR displays and tones.  There is an SA-8, a ZSU-23
  27. and an early warning radar.  They will fire at you but not kill you.  
  28. Observe how the displayed threats change quadrants as you pass them.
