PROGRAM VERSION HISTORY
========================================================================
PROGRAM HISTORY
===============
Changes in 3.4
Month-at-a-glance display of days with events scheduled.
Invoked by Alt-C (or by clicking top "date" info line). Color
is settable via /COLOR:CALENDAR:FG,BG option. /CAL, /NCAL
option will start Remind with monthly calendar displayed.
When viewing events from the calendar, a list of "simulated"
future events is created, showing the occurance of any repeating
events (eg, 4 weekly events will show when viewing a month).
/COLOR:CALITEMS:FG,BG option allows "N ITEMS" line on main
calendar to be highlighted.
SearchDate will not blank when clicked to allow mouse
positioning.
Pressing ESCAPE after a live search with SHOW MATCHES will
return to the main screen instead of exiting program.
Add print menu items for "This Week's Events", "Next Week's
Events", "This Month's Events" and "Next Month's Events".
Printing This Week/Next Week/This Month/Next Month events will
simulate events to include any events that will roll-forward to
that period (same logic as Search-Roll-Fwd and Calendar View
Week/View Month).
Print adds a blank line between different days.
Added new option /PQ, /NPQ (Pause after Quick exit). When
running with the /Q option (quick exit when no events active),
the /PQ will pause and wait for "any key" before continuing.
Used in cases where it is desirable to pause AUTOEXEC.BAT when
no events are active.
Added event simulation to Search function, when the Roll-Fwd
option has been set. Same restrictions as zooming on calendar
(can't edit displayed events).
Changed default colors for FILE line from CYAN,BLACK to
BLACK,LIGHTGRAY and TITLES line from LIGHTRED,BLACK to
WHITE,BLACK.
Bug fix: Correct spelling of "category" on print output.
Bug fix: At start-up, Remind should check for FILE NOT FOUND,
like it does when specifying a new file.
Moved "TYPE" column after "CATEGORY" column on main screen.
Added "field markers" to text fields of various screens (to show
where field starts and ends).
New search option to include simulated events that will roll
forward when searching by a date range.
/LPT:port,lines allows printer port (1-9) and number of lines
per page to be specified. Also selectable from the "Printer
Setup Options" from the option select screen.
/INIT:n,n,n and /TERM:n,n,n allows a printer initialization and
termination string to be specified. Up to 32 decimal numbers
may be specified for "n" (separated by commas). Values depend
on what is required by specific printer. This is also
selectable from the "Printer Setup Options" selection off the
option select screen.
F7/F8 from data entry screen will perform copy/paste of event
data.
Function key legend moved to "Function Menu", invoked by right
mouse button or Alt-F1 (Short-cut from main screen: M).
/STDDATE, /ALTDATE Option for US or European date format
(dd/mm/yyyy or ddMONyyyy.
/TB, /NTB option allows title-boxes to be enabled and disabled.
Vertical lines are shown between fields if Solid-Title-Line
option and Title Box option are both specified.
/SCB, /NSCB (Short Cursor Bar) selects a smaller bar-cursor to
allow color of event to be visible.
/BRIGHTBG, /BLINKBG option allows bright background colors or
blinking fields.
For EGA and VGA monitors, bright background colors may be
selected. The following additional color settings will be
accepted:
DARKGRAY, LIGHTBLUE, LIGHTGREEN, LIGHTCYAN,
LIGHTRED, LIGHTMAGENTA, YELLOW, WHITE
The following color abbreviations will be accepted on command
line color options:
BLA - Black, BLU - Blue, GRE - Green,
CYA - Cyan, RED - Red, MAG - Magenta,
BRO - Brown, LGRA - LightGray, DGRA - DarkGray,
LBLU - LightBlue, LGRE - LightGreen, LCYA - LightCyan,
LRED - LightRed, LMAG - LightMagenta, YEL - Yellow,
WHI - White
If the /BLINKBG option is specified, the following background
color setting values may be specified:
BLACK+BLINK, BLUE+BLINK, GREEN+BLINK, CYAN+BLINK,
RED+BLINK, MAGENTA+BLINK, BROWN+BLINK, LIGHTGRAY+BLINK
or
BLA+BLINK, BLU+BLINK, GRE+BLINK, CYA+BLINK,
RED+BLINK, MAG+BLINK, BRO+BLINK, LGRA+BLINK
/FWD:nnn - First Week Day option (default=MON) for week number
calculation. nnn=MON-SUN.
/INS, /NINS (Insert mode) allows insert mode to be the default
for data entry dialog boxes.
Date field of data-entry box defaults to century 2000 when
2-digit year entered and year is more than 30 years before
current year.
New file REMINDPM.EXE is a protected-mode version of Remind.
Exactly the same functionality as REMIND.EXE, but will use
extended memory for loading events. Intended for users with
large numbers of events or severly memory-constrained systems.
Requires 286 and 1MB or more of extended memory.
Memory requirements for the other modules (REMIND.EXE and
REMINDOV.EXE) have increased. REMIND.EXE now requires a minimum
of 300K (plus memory for event data). REMINDOV.EXE (overlay
module) now requires 256K (plus memory for event data).
README.DOC has been renamed to README.RMN
Changes in 3.3 (internal release only)
Corrected in print routine that caused the last event printed
on a previous page to be reprinted on the first line of the next
page.
Changes in 3.2
Corrected bug that prevented bar-cursor from displaying on
monochrome screens.
Corrected bug that caused events such as 1MoSep to be written
to history incorrectly and too often.
Changes in 3.1
New color options:
/Color:CursorP:fg,bg Color of cursor on past events
/Color:CursorT:fg,bg Color of cursor on today's events
/Color:CursorF:fg,bg Color of cursor on future events
These options will override the /Color:Cursor, if specified.
This can be used to allow the color indicator to show through
the cursor. For example, the scheme below allows the foreground
color of an event to show through, while still retaining the
cursor hilighting:
/Color:Past:Red,Black
/Color:Today:Yellow,Black
/Color:Future:LightBlue,Black
/Color:CursorP:Red,Cyan
/Color:CursorT:Yellow,Cyan
/Color:CursorF:LightBlue,Cyan
On the main screen, the "solid title line" is new. However,
users who prefer the previous "dashed line" may specify the
option /NSTL. /STL (Solid Title Line) is the default.
Remind now uses "soft" mouse reset, speeding up loading. Option
/NSMR (No Soft Mouse Reset) will force the use of a hardware
mouse reset (may be necessary on some mouse drivers). /SMR is
the default.
New startup option /B (/NB) will cause REMIND to create backup
files (.BAK) when saving the data file. /NB is the default.
HELP will now scroll by line in addition to paging up and down.
Mouse users can click on the ar
