Judging of the 1993 Digital Quill competition is over, and the results and
winners are in. It has been an exciting 3 months, as we were inundated with an
amazing outpouring of entries from around the world. Entries were received
from Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada, and across the United States.
We, at the DPA, were truly unprepared for the massive influx of entries. What
that shows is that (a) digital publishing has truly reached a critical mass
and (b) the Digital Publishing Association has become an internationally recog-
nized association.
We want to thank each every one who entered the competition. If you only knew
the quality of the submissions you would not be too disappointed if you did
not win this year. Also, if you did win, you can take great pride in being a
winner among such a quality collection of submissions. It was a wonderful
experience for those of us who were allowed to view and read the fantastic
variety of quality electronic publications. Hats off to all involved.
A special thank you to the people who volunteered to be judges for this year's
awards. These wonderful people, members and non-members, spent many hours
pouring through the submissions they were sent to judge and rendered
exceptionally detailed critiques and thoughtful scoring of each and every
entry. Your work has resulted in the most thorough judging of the Quills yet.
To the dozens of people who judged this year's Quills, our heartfelt appreci-
ation for your time and patience in evaluating the entries.

As reported by Wendy Woods for the world's premier online news service,

plunge into digital publishing.
"Covered Bridge Classics," a division of John A. McCormick, Inc., is offering
the first of a series of new computer-based books, created and written by Beth
Goldie. McCormick and Goldie's first hypertext book, part of their "English
