  2.         DataPage Maker(tm) : a Web DataPage creation utility.
  3.         DataPage Maker(tm) - DIR (DPM-DIR), Version 1.2, transforms 
  4.     disk file directory information into data files which can be 
  5.     displayed by a variety of applications.  
  6.  
  7. 1.  Spreadsheet files are formatted to function as Spreadsheets when 
  8. using any of the modern spreadsheet applications.  The directory data 
  9. of the specified group of files is converted to a Tab-Delimited Text File, 
  10. with a 'header' row.  These type files are easily imported into a spread-
  11. sheet program.

  13. 2.  Web Browser files are formatted to function as HomePages on the 
  14. World-Wide Web (WWW) and consist of HyperText Markup Language 
  15. (HTML) that encapsulates the directory data of the specified group of
  16. files.

  18. 3.  Custom Apps may be activated in order to display the directory data 
  19. of the specified group of files.  The NotePad (c:\windows\notepad.exe) 
  20. is a good example of a 'custom app'.

  32.     * DOS prompt level, you will have NO problem... *

  37.         DPM-DIR operates on 486/586/Pentium(tm) class PC, with Microsoft 
  38.         (MS) Windows95(tm).   DPM performs the best with at least 8 Megabytes 
  39.     of RAM.   The DataPage Maker - DIR is written in Microsoft's Visual 
  40.         Basic(tm) 4.0 (32 bit version) and requires Visual Basic's Run-Time
  41.     executive, which is included in the distributed zip file set 
  42.     (DPM-DIR.ZIP).

  44.     Special Note: This software is Shareware and has been distributed 
  45.     for evaluation.   If you like DPM-DIR, please Register the software

  55.     Sequence of Operation
  56.  
  57.     1.  Select a Directory.  Using the Directory File Selection window 
  58.     upon startup, select both the Disk Drive & Directory containing the 
  59.     disk files of interest.  Then select 'OK'.  CAUTION: If you do not 
  60.     select a specific directory, all files on the disk will be inventor-
  61.     ied -- that may take a little time and require the specified applica-
  62.     tions to load a large data file.

  64.     2.  Control Panel.  After all the data files have been created, the 
  65.     Control Panel is displayed with the "Task Complete..." notice.

  68.     Choose either Excel(tm) or Lotus 1-2-3(tm), for other fine 
  69.     spreadsheet apps use the Custom App button.

  72.     Choose either Netscape(tm) or Internet Explorer(tm), for other 
  73.     fine Web Browsers use the Custom App button.

  76.     Display your Directory Data in the App of your choice.  Try using
  77.     'c:\windows\notepad.exe' and then try finding 'winword.exe'.  
  78.     When you have selected a Custom App, you are ready for Button
  79.     #2.

  82.     Once a Custom App has been selected using Button #1, the format
  83.     of the data to be displayed must be selected.  Select either TEXT  
  84.     or HTML.
