can customize the appearance of your documents by setting the <A HREF="#colors">display
colors</A>, <A HREF="#font_sizes">font sizes</A>, and <A HREF="#fonts">fonts
</A>. You can also determine whether or not <A HREF="#underline_links">hypertext
links are underlined</A>.<H3><A NAME="colors"></A>Colors</H3><P>You can customize
the color of text and background in documents that you open with Navigate with
an Accent. You can either use your custom-selected colors as default colors
(for documents without color specifications), or you can set your color scheme
to override the colors specified in the document you open.<P>To customize display
colors:<OL>
<LI>From the Options menu, select General Preferences.<LI>From the list box
at the bottom of the Preferences box, select Colors.<LI>You can choose a color
for each of the following elements:<P><dl><dt><B>Text Color<dd></B>Normal text.<dt>
<B>Background Color<dd></B>Background color of document window.<dt><B>Link
Color<dd></B>Color of hypertext links.<dt><B>Visited Link Color<dd></B>Color
of hypertext links to sites that you have already visited.</dl><LI>To choose
a color, click the Set button next to the element for which you want to define
a color; a color palette appears. Choose the color you want for that element,
then click OK.
</OL>
<P>The following criteria determine which color scheme Accent uses:<UL>
<LI>If you want the colors you have selected to override the colors that are
coded into the documents that you view, select Ignore Document Attributes in
the bottom of the Colors box. (This will eliminate background graphics.)
<LI>If you do not select Ignore Document Attributes, Accent will use your colors
to the extent that the documents you are viewing do not specify colors.
<LI>If you select Use System Colors in the bottom of the Colors box, Accent
will use your system colors rather than the colors you selected in Accent for
normal text and background. If you also select Ignore Document Attributes,
Accent will use your system colors for normal text and background in all cases.
</UL>
<H3><A NAME="fonts"></A>Fonts</H3><P>You can determine the fonts the Navigate
with an Accent uses through Preferences. You can select the font separately
for Normal Text, Headers, and Monospace Text, and you can select fonts for
<A HREF="view_eng.htm">any language group</A>, including Western (Latin), Central
European, Cyrillic, Greek, Turkish, Hebrew, Arabic, and Japanese. You can also
determine font size for both viewing and printing, with five different sizes
to choose from ranging from Very Small to Very Large. <P>To set fonts:
<OL>
<LI>From the Options menu, select General Preferences.<LI>From the list box
at the bottom of the Preferences box, select Fonts.
</OL>
<P><A NAME="font_sizes"></A>To set font size:<UL>
<LI>Use the Display Font Size box to determine the size of text that appears
on your screen.<LI>Use the Printer Font Size box to determine the size of text
in documents that you print.
</UL>
<P>To choose type of font:<OL>
<LI>In the Script box, choose the language group for which you want to set
the font types.<LI>You can choose a font type for each of the following types
of text:<P><dl><dt><B>Normal Text<dd></B>Includes most styles.<dt><B>Header<dd>
</B>Includes heading styles.<dt><B>Monospace Text<dd></B>Includes fixed-width
styles.</dl><LI>When you have finished setting font sizes and types, click
OK to close Preferences.
</OL>
<H3><A NAME="underline_links"></A>Underlining Hypertext Links</H3><P>You can
determine whether or not hypertext links are underlined in your display from
Preferences:<OL>
<LI>From the Options <LANG LANG=iw>menu<LANG LANG=en.us>, select General Preferences.
<LI>From the list box at the bottom of the Preferences box, select Miscellaneous.
<LI>Select or deselect Underline Links.<LI>Click OK to close Preferences.
