┌────┤ TITLE BUILDER HELP FILE ├───────────────────────────┤ Page 1 of 4 ├─────┐│ ┌────────────────────┐ ││ │ OVERVIEW │ ││ └────────────────────┘ ││This program is designed to build screen titles for QuickBASIC programs. The ││font files contain letters [ and characters ] for building different size and ││style titles. Titles which are created are stored on disk in an ASCII file so││that code may be merged into a QuickBASIC program. ││ ││These so called [ FONTS ] were created using the IBM extended character set. ││The Bold Font is the largest of the font sets; it includes alpha and numeric ││characters, and some common symbols on the Key Board (= + * &, etc). OutLine ││font set includes letters and numbers. The other font sets normally include ││only letters A - Z and [Space]. Different versions of program may contain ││different fonts and you may want to experiment with various options to find ││if a particular set contains a number or symbol you need. ││ ││╚═════<C>reate The Title File(s) ││The MENU shows fonts available, giving approximate size in lines and spaces ││[ie 6 x 8]. The selected font style is loaded from disk file and then prompts ││at the Input Screen indicate maximum number of characters that can be included││for that particular style. With some fonts, the shift 2 [@] key produces a ││quote mark [CHR$(34)]. Create a separate file for each title line. │├──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤└─────┤Press <Esc> to EXIT├────────────────┤ <PgUp[]> ├─────┤ <PgDn[]> ├─────┘┌────┤ TITLE BUILDER HELP FILE ├───────────────────────────┤ Page 2 of 4 ├─────┐│ ││╚═════<S>toring Title Line ││After you enter title, the computer asks for file name for storing the title. ││Be careful in naming these temporary files; this program overwrites any file ││with the same name. Suggest you use [.bas] extension to make it easier to ││merge into QuickBASIC programs. For multiple line titles you might want to ││use filenames [first.bas], [second.bas], [third, bas], etc. ││ ││╚═════<M>erging Title into Scource Code: ││The ASCII File containing title line includes code for centering the title on ││screen. This code uses format [x% = x% + 1: LOCATE x%, n%]. Declare first ││value of x% for proper placement of your title(s). Raise and lower title(s) ││by changing the first value of x%. Your code will contain a number for value ││of n%. You can subsitute n% for this number if you want to move title left to ││right by changing value of n%, etc. ││ ││╚═════<B>uilding The Screen: ││Using your Box Drawing routines, build box for your Log On, Menu Screens, etc.││Next merge title into the appropriate part of your program. The SUB [Frame] ││included with this program gives me a choice of three boxes (frames) with an ││option of centering, off-setting, and shadowing. ││ │├──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤└─────┤Press <Esc> to EXIT├────────────────┤ <PgUp[]> ├─────┤ <PgDn[]> ├─────┘┌────┤ TITLE BUILDER HELP FILE ├───────────────────────────┤ Page 3 of 4 ├─────┐│ ││There are some twenty five (25) fonts available.
