  3.            Announcing the availability of NAPLPS API source code!

  6.      Futureware Co. has developed a NAPLPS interpreter for use by  BBS
  7. authors, door authors, third  party  utility  authors,  or  any  other
  8. telecommunications/videotex software  authors.  Futureware's API fully
  9. implements 5 of the 6 NAPLPS character sets with support for the  DRCS
  10. character set on the way.  The excitement of this API is that the FULL
  11. pascal  source code is available  for purchase, in an attempt to  help
  12. promote  the  highly  sophisticated  NAPLPS  protocol,  which  is  the
  13. videotex/teletext industry standard established by the CSA  and  ANSI.
  14. Whether using the  source code  or the units, the  software  developer
  15. will be able to easily support graphical NAPLPS images.

  17. Some of the features of Futureware's NAPLPS API are:

  20. -> Supports all character sets with the exception of the DRCS set
  21.    which will be added with a future version.  This includes  the
  22.    primary, supplementary, mosaic, macro, and PDI sets, with word
  23.    wrap and scrolling.

  25. -> Full support of PDI set including:
  26.       - Rescalible pel size.
  27.       - Four basic fill patterns.
  28.       - Implicit and explicit use of color map.
  29.       - Blink and wait intervals (Animation).
  30.       - Incremental point, line and polygon.
  31.       - All geometric primitives using our own drawing routines to
  32.         make use of the logical pel. (Source for all drawing algs.)
  33.       - All dimensionality coordinate interpretation with a three
  34.         dimensionality software hook, when such display devices become
  35.         available.

  38.    inter-row spacing, and rescalible character field using custom
  39.    made stroked fonts.
