  186.              INSTALLATION
  187.
  188.              QENV   stores  the  database  information in a  file  called
  189.              ENV.DAT  (included  on  the diskette).  When QENV is started
  190.              the  current  directory  will be searched  for   ENV.DAT  if
  191.              ENV.DAT  is  not found in the current directory,  QENV  will
  192.              search  the path specified in  your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.   The
  193.              same  is true for the printer setup file  PRNT.SET  and  the
  194.              correspondence file ENVLTR.DAT.
  195.
  196.              To create a QENV directory and copy QENV into that directory
  197.              follow these steps,
  198.
  199.                      1.  Place the enclosed diskette in drive A:
  200.
  201.                      2.  c:>MD QENV [ENTER]
  202.
  203.                      3.  c:>CD QENV [ENTER]
  204.
  205.                      4.  c:>COPY A:*.* [ENTER]
  206.
  207.              If   you   just  want  one copy of the database file  to  be
  208.              accessed on  your  hard  drive,  I suggest  that  you   copy
  209.              the  file ENV.DAT into a directory specified in  your   path
  210.              and  delete it from where you copied the diskette  (in  this
  211.              case the directory QENV).
  212.
  213.              Hints:   I  have the program QENV copied into  my  directory
  214.              \UTIL  which is specified as part  of  my  path  in  my  AU-
  215.              TOEXEC.BAT  file,  I  also  have  the   file   ENV.DAT   and
  216.              PRNT.SET   copied into \UTIL.  This way I can run QENV  from
  217.              any directory  on  my machine  and  access the information I
  218.              have stored in the one  ENV.DAT,  PRNT.SET file.
